My mom appears to have lung cancer, and I am in a state of panic. I tried to talk to my doctors about my medication to see if something would decrease the rushes of adreline, but they say I have to deal with the issue. Its very diffivult to be supportative for her when I'm freeking out. I hope to be there for all the treatments but am having trouble dealing day by day.

Some advice about dealing with this problem with someone

who has panic would be great. I am busy constantly, there is not a spider wed in my house. I run out of things to do and think the worst case sereniro, and have a panic attack, where I have to lay down, Listen to ocean waves , and totally zone out. Which is not supportive to my mom when she needs me.

I can't imagine having to go through this, but I want you to know I will pray for you and your mother...not only for strength but also for healing! I have faith in complete recovery no matter what the diagnosis.

As far as anxiety and panic go...instead of doing all this cleaning and busy work at your house, why not go to your mothers house and do it there? This provides support by simply spending quality time and helping to carry her burdens. Just sit with her, relax with her, listen to ocean waves and zone out WITH HER...I'm sure she is dealing with her own anxiety about this and will appreciate the company!

Being there for every chemo or radiation treatment is good...I worked at a cancer center for six years and have seen the treatments first hand, I know that support/having a driver/someone to take instructions is very important! But if you have siblings it would be good to share these responsibilities with them or other family members. This WILL be a difficult time for you, but use it to know your own strength. I believe that as a panic sufferer myself, that I give myself far less credit than I deserve. I CAN do more than I think, I CAN get through difficult times, and noone (not even ME) is going to stop me. The outcome of everyday is unknown and we are all brave to wake up each morning and own the day. But its what we MUST do, especially in situations like this. Hang in there, be strong, HAVE FAITH...hope this helps!
