Please help! I need some advice. I'm suffering so much! People around me think I am making it up because on the outside, I'm so healthy and happy but I think all of my problems are exacerbated by the fact that I am so tolerant to pain!

Here is some recent history of me. I had a skateboarding accident and fell on my right side, in 2004. I had a lot o road rash, arm in sling, very bad injury but no breaks.

In the summer of 2005, I was hit by a car going 30 mph on a mountain bike. I was thrown off my bike and when I landed (without getting hit by traffic behind me, thankfully!) I fell on my left arm, left elbow and left hip. I had no treatment after. I am UNINSURED, which means advice pertaining to a lot of dr. visits may do me no good!! So anyway, I couldn't lift arm for sometime and though I can lift it to a 90 degree angle, this causes a lot of chest tightness and some bizarre, abnormal sensations. Before this time, this chest pain was mild, and I attribute it to a lot of stress though it was easier to manage before the accident and much more tolerable. I felt like one muscle was tensed only under collar bone left side. I treated this mild pain with yoga. There's always been tension in my shoulder area but it was never this intolerable.

Over time, the signs and sensations are extending into under arm and into lower back, the sensations and pain. I feel burning. I feel hot. I also have aching and dull pain in my left shoulder blade, under arm, sharp pain in my chest wall and up along collar bone burning tingling and hot sensation. All of these symptoms seem to be spreading and getting worse over time. I now sometimes feel tingling on the left side of my face. It feels like it comes from under my left breast in between my heart and muscle. I was worried there was something in the breast, so I already checked for lumps by gyn last year though she opted not to do an ultrasound. She didn't find anything in the fifteen mintues that she really tried looking. I also have neck pain, burning in lower back and along spine. I have muscle aches but not head aches, neck pain but no headaches, hot feeling in fingers when rotating arm in certain direction. feel pains in joints, legs, arms and like someone is putting pressure on my muscles all at the same time.

Another part of my history is that I have had many MRI's. My brother was diagnosed with MS when he was 17. When the did the brain scan, they found lesions in my brain too though the spine was clear. My diagnostic tests also turned out normal.

Sometimes, I have heart pain then it starts to make me panic. I'm an x smoker so I think omg, I have lung cancer and I'm freaked out. One year and a half ago, I successfully quit and haven't even had a puff since these symptoms made me feel so terrible and scared me into quitting.

I also have fatigue. I tire very easily but I am a very active person. I swim at least a couple of miles a week and I run and jog whenever I can. I walk at least one mile a day. When it gets too bad, I sleep on average 8-10 hours to make it feel better. My heart feels like it's accelerating. I feel nauseaus in morning and sometimes very sick in the morning like I can't go on with my day. My sleeping position has always been on stomach. I never could sleep on back. I also have numbness in left leg, toes and weakness in left arm, hand and leg. When rotating my shoulders, there is cracking and popping.

I am just a complete mess. What do you suggest? Due to my complicated medical history and the fact that I'm an uninsured scholar, I can't bear the thought of racking up medical bills while dr's try to wrestle their way through these issues in my body. It sounds like I need a physical therapist, chiropractor, heart and lung doctor, as well as the rheumotologist and neurologist that I had before who was dealing with my MS investigation.

If I go through all of this, I also don't want creditors pursuing me when I already know I can't pay. At the same time, if it's something serious, I want to name it and kill it. If it's not, I just want to feel better. Last week, I had a therapeutic sports massage which really h elped but I cannot afford to do that once per week. I have a very healthy diet and very healthy lifestyle in general. There's no reason I should have to go on feeling like a 90 year old woman!!!

HELP!

Hi Peedee, You sound really messed up. I'm not a doctor, so I can't help you there, but I know how you feel about going from doctor to doctor, been there, done that. Have you tried talking to someone in your area about free medical advice though some organazation. Are you still a student? Maybe your school could advise you. You said you've had several mri's, were those after your accident? Didn't they find anything wrong with you thru those? How about seeing a chiropractor, they will do some x-rays, which don't usaully cost alot, and maybe can give you some reason why you feel so bad and suggest treatment. Just a thought. Good luck on whatever you do. You can also talk to some other people who have other problems under the topic of Rhizotomy on this web site, that's where I started talking to members, alot of people with back and hip problems on this site.
