 my doc just gave me scipt for neuntin 100mg is this med any good? and what are the side effect?:

 is it neurontin? i am on that and i sometimes have blurred vision; mostly at night and my dexterity skills suck now, usually in the morning...like, i will drop things a lot more than i used to.

 My doctor gave me some of that too..but I havent taken it yet cause im scared. Does it make you gain weight or loss your hair? cause i think any episode is better then that lol

 I have taken 300mgs twice a day for about three weeks and I have not noticed any hair loss or weight gain. It is a little early to call the weight part since I am only three weeks in though. I expect my dose will be increased next time I see my doctor. The only side effect I had was a little bit of drowsiness at first, but I am over that at this point. As to whether or not it is any good, I am taking it off label for a headache so I have no idea how well it works for a mood disorder. I can't really tell if it is going to help the headache yet either. As I said I think the dose is going to have to go up.

 I was put on 800mg 4x a day several years ago after I was discharged from the Hosp then was dropped to 800mg 2x a day. I DID gain weight and I know med are different for everyone but I had more manic times while on it. I felt like I needed to clean everything, and I had a hard time sleeping. But that was just how it did for me. My Dr swiched me to Lycria which is in the same "family" as neuro.and it had less side effects for me.
