Absolutely! In fact, I am experiencing the same thing right now that you are, except mine is on the right side. I also wondered if it might be something else, but I truly do believe, as time goes on, that it is classic fibro symptoms. Just feels too much the same. My pain also runs into my back as well. Twisting a certain way also makes the pain worse.

Hi, cindlyloo

I agree regarding the Fibro...but I have never experienced this kind of pain in rib area before! I also have this in my back also..from neck, shoulder blades, spine I could go on but I know you know what I'm talking about, it just moves around!! I really do pray that they soon come up with some new med's that would help us all. Hope to chat with you later, thanks for the comment...hope you are feeling ok today!!!

Yes I have had what your talking about the pain was so awfull that I thought I was having a heart attack and I went to the ER since I am newly D/X with fibro I did not know what was going on. The pain was in the left side of my rib cage and I could hardly move I thought I was dying but the Dr assured me it was fibro and gave me moraphine and sent me home. So yes fibro does attack there to as it does everywhere else. Hang in there

YEP COUNT ME IN. I WENT TO THE HOSPITOL THINKING I WAS HAVING A HEART ATTACK CAUSE I HAD PAIN THAT WENT FROM MY RIB CAGE TO THE CENTER OF MY CHEST. IT HAD STARTED IN THE SIDE OF MY RIB CAGE AND GUESS WHAT MY FRIENDS:

I HAD A HEART ATTACK (THE BLOOD TEST CAME BACK TELLING THEM I HAD FOR A FACT DAMAGED HEART TISSUE) BUT

WHEN I ASKED THE DOC WHAT HAD BROUGHT IT ON: STRESS ETC.? HE SAID THE FIBRO HAD PULLED THE INTERIOR TISSUE OF THE RIBCAGE WHICH SET OFF THE HEART'S REACTION TO THE PAIN AND IT SNOWBALLED!! YOU GET CHEST PAINS - IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR CHEST AND IT DOES'NT STOP- PLEASE GET TO A HOSPITAL. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY SO, YES FIBROMYALGIA CAN CAUSE A HEART ATTACK.

Yes I have, in fact I was in so much pain that I went to see my doc and insisted on some testing. (I was convinced something serious was happening internally). She ordered chest x-ray, blood work and finally an ultrasound of my abdomen. As happy as I was when all tests came back clear, it was frustrating to say the least. I could not imagine that intensity of pain having no origin. It disappeared as quickly as it came. The only thing I can possibly attach it to was that I was in the middle of making a move from my home of 8 years due to a domestic violence incident, which caused my children to react horribly and turned one of my favorite holidays upside down. I hope this has been some help. I can only tell you that even when my doctor told me she thought it had emotional origins, I was taken back by it due to the severity of the pain. I went many nights with very little sleep and my normal pain meds had zero affect. the only thing that worked for me was a heating pad.
