Helllloo.

I’ve got a problem with my left ear,

Three years ago I went on a 5 day diving trip to Australia. Fist dive, forth day, I felt something wrong with my left ear the second I got in the water. I skipped diving that morning and thought it would be better by noon. Didn’t get better and I didn’t dive anymore. It was like a numb feeling, not pain, but it bothered me a lot.

Since then my ear is a constant problem. When driving the car, I can’t have the window down cause it hurts, during the winter days it feels cold even if I’m at a heated place for a long time, I can feel it almost every second. Most of the time it’s not pain just that numb / blocked feeling. I think my hearing is not as good, but the tests at the doctor didn’t show that. The doctor said it can be a cold and that maybe I have delicate nerves in that ear. He says that most likely it has nothing to do with the diving. But somehow I truly believe It’s related.

What the doctor basically said is that I have to live with that. I don’t really like that (it annoys me !!!).

Does this sound familiar to anybody?

I’m willing to try anything.

Hi Bill,

Have you tried ear candles?

Its not a medical treatment, and a lot of doctors would tell you that Candling is both ineffective and dangerous, but it works for me....

I dive regularly, and during one of my trips - a fellow diver saw me in pain and suggested i try his bees wax ear candles. It worked perfectly and I’ve been using it ever since.

I’m not a doctor, and as I said – when I asked my doc about it – he said I might as well put honey in my ear… , but I find it very relaxing and after each candle I feel a great relief. There are many different products (almost all over the counter) and I can’t suggest a specific one (I buy a different one every time, as I can’t remember which I bought the last time .

Do a google search on it, or maybe someone else here has some more info about it.

Hope this helps,

roy

I have Meniere's disease in both ears.

My right ear does the going numb bit on me every once in awhile. Now don't laugh or be skeptical about this but I get mine fixed by my Chiropractor. He says that a little bone could go out of place in or around the ear and press on a nerve producing the numb feeling.

He does a neck adjustment and does some kind of pulling on my ears and it goes away. It works for me.

May your troubles be less,
Your blessing be more,
And nothing but happiness come through your door!
