I've put on some weight recently and, even though my back was mostly well all my life, I've started to suffer from back aches... at first rare and shy, and culminating to a forced two-day vacation in bed... I don't know how related this whole thing is to my recent weight gain, but anyway, I'd like to know: is there any "correct" sleeping position that helps soothing back pains and/or prevents them from appearing and puts our spine and muscles to rest, or at least doesn't strain them? I'd like advices from experience, please...

hello Gideon1710........what works for me is the fetal position...on my side...knees bent...with a pillow between my legs...after three failed back surgies...(plus im a big guy)...this has worked for me...but... on the flip side...i have discovered over the years of dealing with back pain...laying in bed is not the "cure-all"...you have to push yourself to take a walk each day and move those muscles...(get a dog and walk em')...laying in bed on a pretty constant basis...will make your situation worse...get up...do something...break a sweat...then go lie down...good luck..jerseybing
