When I read what you wrote it brought tears to my eyes. Desperate is a word I know all to well. When you said "I can't stand the pain any longer" it really brought me back. About 4 years ago I woke up one morning and my right arm, hand, and fingers would not move. I freaked out. The Doctor told me I had 2 bad disks and they were resting on top of the nerves that controlled my arm. They went through my throat to replace them. My X-rays show this metal bracket that looks like a capital E. It took over 3 years for my body to heal. My pains went down the right side of my neck, shoulder, arm, hands and fingers. Last year I had a flair up and found out I had some type of Degenerate Disk Diesese. After about 3 weeks it went back down. Sometimes my neck cracks so hard I swear you can hear it in the next room! Have you thought about Disk Replacement?

I actually saw an orthopedic surgeon for a third opinion today. He ordered another mri and is considering percutaneous disc decompression, a lesser invasive treatment. He says my last mri shows an otherwise healthy spine and he doesn't want to even consider fusion at this time, and neither do I. I would like to exhaust conservative procedures, however I must say I'm totally exhausted from the pain, which I've had for over a year and getting worse. This ortho is irritated because a CT scan was not performed at the time of the diskogram, which seems to be standard operation. He said it better shows them the results of the dye and the condition of the disc if done right after the diskogram. Thanks for the info. I also have bulging discs in the neck and middle of the back so know a little of what you went through. It's just that the lumbar is so bad now I can't stand it.
