I actually saw an orthopedic surgeon for a third opinion today. He ordered another mri and is considering percutaneous disc decompression, a lesser invasive treatment. He says my last mri shows an otherwise healthy spine and he doesn't want to even consider fusion at this time, and neither do I. I would like to exhaust conservative procedures, however I must say I'm totally exhausted from the pain, which I've had for over a year and getting worse. This ortho is irritated because a CT scan was not performed at the time of the diskogram, which seems to be standard operation. He said it better shows them the results of the dye and the condition of the disc if done right after the diskogram. Thanks for the info. I also have bulging discs in the neck and middle of the back so know a little of what you went through. It's just that the lumbar is so bad now I can't stand it. |
