Does anyone have acne scars? I had severe acne during my teenage years and still have it (i’m 23 now). It’s as severe as it used to be, but I am left with pitted scars on my face.

I hate the way my face look and the scarring make me feel very insecure.

I was told to visit a dermatologist and seek options such as surgery to remove the scarring or at least make them less visible.

Has anyone had any type of acne scar procedure and luck with it? Is it expensive?

I actually would prefer a different solution - if someone can recommend, it will be great.

Thanks

Glycolic acid peels work great (Glycolic acid peel 50%). It’s similar to a toner, you put some on a cotton ball and rub your face with it. Then let it work for one minute (no more then that since it might burn your face). Then take baking soda and put it on your skin to neutralizes it.

If you do this once a week for 2 months they will all dissapear.

BTW, I heard there’s a new glycolic acid gel. And it’s supposedly better then the peel (the toner).

Good luck!

There are many known scar treatments such as creams - vitamin e cream is said to work as well as brands like mederma and scarzone.

Cocoa butter is known to work for some people but not for any skin colors - it only seems to be for people with a darker skin color.

Hope these will be helpful

I’m going to tell you right now, so you don’t get your hopes up. If you have severe acne scar, which is probably the case for you I assume, then nothing will work drastically. You just have to live with it. I know because I experience what you are feeling too. I too have acne scars, pretty much all over my cheeks and my forehead. I have both boxcar and rolling scars. On top of that I have keloid scars on my back and chest. I recently had dermabrasion done on my face, imo it was a waste of 4 grand. I did not see any if minimal improvement on my scars even the shallower ones. So if dermabrasion ( the toughest treatment for acne scars) doesn’t work, I sure as hell don’t think some chemical peel is going to work either. And scarzone doesn’t help pitted scars, believe me, I ued it religiously for 2 months with no avail. I’ve also tried elicina, doesn’t work either I’m sorry but you had to hear the truth from someone, especially someone who can relate to you. I know how you feel about hating the way you look and feeling insecure. I feel the same way from time to time. what really gets to me is that I know I look good, not to be a egemaniac but, i come from a good looking family. I mean my bro was voted prom king and my sister was crowned prom princess so It just devestates me that people judge me on my looks because I have these scars on my face, I mean how can I not be depressed? It’s sucks having scars on your face, but you just gotta live with it.

Not true or at least I don’t agree. I had acne too and for a long time (10 years) and when finally I was finished with it, I had scars all over...But I couldn’t live with that. I was only 24 and people would stare at me on the streets cause they’d think I’d had an accident or something...it was really hard getting a girlfriend and even when I did get one, she’ never caress my face and restrain from looking into my face. I don’t blame her. My face looked like some chinese cook had played with a knife on it. I couldn’t accept that. I had dermatosurgery done and now I don’t have to live with those scars. I still have scars in my heart, cause I can’t forgive certain people’s reactions, but I don’t have to face those reactions anymore.

Hi

To interject here, there are things you can do for superficial to deep depressions, such as a really hot new injectable called Sculptra. You could also use a temporary filler called Restylane.

There are solutions!

Happiness comes from within.

Acne scares or no acne scares, if you look inside, you'll find joy, wealth and health.

Just believe – the rest should come by its own.

I have two questions.

1. Are acne scars the same as pitting?

2. Has anyone tried these Glycolic acid peels, or the new glycolic acid gel? I am very interested in them. What about cost know about that too?

hello, my name is geny. I'm 25 years old. I have acne ,too. I tried many products to get rid of it. Right now I'm taking tetracycline. My face is clear now. Ones in awhile I get some but not like before. But my biggest is problem how to get rid of the acne scars(pitted scars). I got all over my cheeks. I'm using microdermabrasion. My dermatologist told me only laser surgery can disappear it. I know it's expensive. I have a big hope that it will go away using the right products or surgeries. I will achieve my goal which is having a clear face no matter what people say. I know how it feel when people look at you.Everybody wants to have a clear and nice face. Let's have a positive attitude that it will go away. And someone will find a miracle solution to get rid of pitted scars due to acne, he will share and spread out.
