MDJunction to me

liamacker"The part of my recovery plan that I would say made up 80% is MDJ. I suffered a lot prior to finding MDJ, felt alone and had no one to talk to who really understood me. In the Bipolar Group I found like minded individuals who I could relate to and who offered support to me when I needed it. As I recovered, I could then offer support to them which gave me a good feeling about myself. I have met some great people here who I would class as good friends and know I would still be in the slump I was in without them. Now I am stable, I know that MDJ plays an important part in keeping me that way. Thank you MDJ for being there for us all and making us no longer feel alone." (liamacker)

Hello I am new to this site. Was just looking for somes ftm transgenders to help me through this process of transitioning. Any kind of personal experiences on therapy and "T" and top surgery would be very helpful and appreciated. Thank you

Hello thank u for responding to my message! I do have a few question if u could answer them or maybe found info on them! But I can't seem to find much about coming out to my work/coworkers! My family already knows and my wife knows I'm a bit worried about her family but not as much as I am about work! I really love my job and don't want to quit because I want to be physically happy! Got any advice?

The best thing to do about work is to wait till you have some paperwork from your therapist stating that you are transgender because that'll give you a little bit of working room w/ them, I don't know where you live so I don't know what kind of transgender protection guidelines your state has. But that is the best advice that I can give you.

Pennsylvania is where I live! In a rural pretty conservative place! So as for coworkers u think it's best to wait til I tell human resources about it first? I don't want to start t and not tell my buddies at work and then something so wrong with my job! The guys I work with are awesome and treat me as one of guys already I just dont want them to feel strange about it! Anyone have any personal experiences on this matter?

Like I had said make sure to get the diagnosis letter from the therapist about the GID first then take that to the HR department 'cause that'll give you a little bit more leeway.

Cool suggestion definitly taken! Another question....my doctor (family doctor) is already to start me on t I see a therapist but it is for anger which we both agree a lot of the anger comes from gid! So I guess my question is do I really have to have a therapist ok for t if my doc is ready to put me on it! Also what are the typical steps to get on t?

First you see a therapist that deals w/ GID, then after a period (sadly it varies from therapist to therapist but it's about 3-6 months) they will recommend you for hormones & then you will be monitored w/ the blood work every so often & then after 18 months (I think that it's the same for FTM's as well as MTF's 'cause that's our time line) you will be elegable for surgeries.
