Hi Lozza07. I get bloated every now and then depending on what I am eating. What pills are you on? Reglan? Domperidome? Nothing and just diet? It may be worth a change of meds if you're still feeling quite unwell due to the bloating or maybe even a bigger change in diet. I know. Change SUCKS! Especially when it's because of disease but sometimes you seem to have no choice if you want to get a little better. I have about 5 diseases so I know about change and hating every bit of it! Let us know a bit more about your condition and when you seem to get bloated and people should be able to direct their advice more thoroughly. Thanks.

Hi Plo83

I was taking cisapride, nexium and tazac. I have currently stopped taking the cisapride but continue to take the nexium and tazac.

I usually get bloated as soon as i start eating for the day. I am finding it hard to pinpoint single foods that cause it.

My stomach has been so badly swollen that i once got asked if i was pregnant, that was a shit moment.

has anyone seen a chinese doctor? I was thinking about giving one a go to try something different.

Thanks

You should try to find a dr that will prescribe you Domperidome. They will try to prescribe you Reglan but it has MANY side effects that Domperidome doesn't have. You will need to use your script to buy it from an online Canadian pharmacy. Make sure it's a reputable one. Domperidome helps me A LOT with bloating due to not digesting. It sounds like you have the anti acid covered but those will not help your digestion.

When I was first diagnosed with gastroporesis I was given motillum which I believe is Domperidome? or a form of? or am I wrong? I didn't have to get it from an on-line pharmacy.

I was taking it 3 times a day and had really bad side effects from that medication. I switched to try something different and was switched to cisapride.

I guess ill have to start looking more at my diet.

You are correct that "Motillum" is "Domperidome" I'm sorry you had such terrible side effects as that (Domperidome) is a very good drug for people who suffer from this condition/disease! Hang in there!!!

Ack I'm sorry you had a bad reaction to it. It sucks because it's one of the best medications for it. Have you tried to make a food journal? I do that. If I feel sick a lot on days when I ate something that I ate one another day...Well you get the point. I make associations with my food and the date vs how I feel. You could do the same with your bloating. Does everything cause it? Can you take maybe half a domperidome? They probably gave you 10mg so if you cut one in half will you still have a bad reaction?

I wish we could do more. Have you spoken with your doctor about this bloating and the bad reactions you've had to Domperidome to see if there is anything else you ca take?

I too am new to this group. I have had gastroparesis for about 6 yrs. I have had 13 abdominal surgeries and most were from adhesions from a previos surgery and blockage. It is believed by my GI dr that one of those surgeries caused my stomach to quit. I don't know how I got it but i know it is very difficult for me to manage. Just got home from an eight day stay in the hospital because I had been throwing up almost daily for 3 months and had gotten dehydrated and lost a lot of weight. I have been home now 7 days and and the first 4 days I was actually pretty good. The last 3 days however, I am back to bloating and hurting and very gassy. I have not thrown up tho. If anyone has a link or site that may help me as far as what foods normally cause problems, I would appreciate it. I have kept a food diary before and we could not determine any particular food that caused me problems or throwing up. There seems to by no rhyme or reason for my symptoms. I am a 61 year old female.
I am not a medical professional. All posts are my own opinion. Seeking professional medical help is always best.
