I found this web site the other day. Thought I'd share. http://gpawarenessfund.tripod.com

It's an awareness campaign for gastroparesis. Pretty cool. He says 50% of all diabetes patients will get gastroparesis and there is virtually no study of this condition. Some Dr. or university stands to cash in BIG BIG BIG if that is true and they can find a drug/cure/treatment. Diabetes numbers are huge and 50% of that is no small amount! Why is this NOT being studied?!?!?!?! Makes me very angry when I suffer daily with stomach pain and nausea and get excited about being able to drink juice!! Let's do our part, people, to increase awareness about this condition that we all have in common. Plan a walk, wear a T-shirt, encourage your Dr. to do some trials....And lets get a TREATMENT (at least), or better yet, A CURE!!!!W00t

I can not thank you enough for sharing this website. I have just been diagnosed about two months ago with this disorder. I have lots of weight loss, my food in take is horrible. I got this condition from a surgical procedure to the bowel and they hit the vague nerve. I am looking for people to share Ideals with regarding this issue. That website is so helpful. I also was wondering if you might know where to go to find a list of questions you should ask your doctor. I have some of my own ideals, but I might be missing something. I also have had two stints in the hospital in the last couple of months with severe vomiting.

Thank you,

Sandi

True that no one seems to care about researching gastroparesis. Seems people care when they get it, not a second before. Sad, but true. I've quit trying to gain or even maintain my weight. Too painful. For the first time in YEARS, I've taken pain meds (tylenol with codeine that I'm praying takes the edge off).
Peace, love and gentle hugs, Julia Grace
