Hi, and welcome Smile Nice to meet you, you will find some good information here, and you're now in a group of people who all relate to anything and everything you will go through, good or bad.

I am quite shocked you're on the diet now, it's usually 2 weeks before, sometimes a week, but I have never heard 4 weeks. Can you briefly explain what the diet is? What are you allowed to have? Is it very restricted?

The liver reducing diet I was on basically allowed me to have sugar free ice lollies, clear soup, and no solids at all. And lots of water.

That is the biggest bit of advice I can give you, drink lots of water. You will need it. After surgery too, it's important, so you might as well get used to it now when you can.

Hi- welcome to our group. Excellent to have your date for this month. Nerves can make you not sleep very well. Keep thinking positive and you should be fine. CappyTongue

Hi, hannah! I have my surgery Sept. 15th. I also can't sleep. haha Last night I was sooo tired, but I tossed and turned and my mind was racing for 3 hours!! If I can't get some sleep soon, I'll probably just talk to my doc about getting a sleep aid for the last few days prior. Good luck!! Smile
I am not a Doctor. My advice is purely my opinion and should be regarded as such.

I can understand you not sleeping properly, but please try and relax if you can. You know, the surgeons doing this procedure do it every single day, nearly. They will have done so many in the past, and remember, if they were not happy and didn't think it was possible to do, they would cancel it. So, if they're confident, and sure, then don't worry. It's a little like a pilot, if the weather is bad, and they feel nervous, they delay or cancel the flight. They don't take chances as there's a lot of people on board. it's the same with this, the surgon has a responsibility to your care, so he/she wouldn't even think about it if they were not sure. Trust me!

Your dr might give you something to relax you, although I doubt you will be able to take anything like the at least the night before, as it might interfere with the anaesthetic.

I was quite scared, until I realised that they wouldn't even try if they thought I was in any danger, so I seemed to stop worrying then. I am totally sure you will be fine, try and be a little more excited about the changes in your life which are about to happen
