I had gastric bypass surgery almost 20 years ago. I had very few problems for most of these 20 years, but as I age (I am 51 now) I have developed problems such as severe anemia and arthritic conditions. Since my body cannot absorb iron, I take it intravenously when I get seriously low in my blood count. I also have to take liquid Vitamin D and I take Vitamin B12 in the form of a nose spray. Both of these supplements are by prescriptions. I have been noticing other problems with my skin, hair, and nails and I have tried many supplements that other people swear by, but I do not benefit from them at all. I am wondering if my body can even absorb the vitamins contained in these "Hair, Skin and Nails" formulas such as biotin, calcium, vitamin C and vitamin D. I would appreciate any advise.

20 years!! Wow, you are an inspriation!! Your age and the surgery are making things difficult. Sad Since it has just started being a problem, I think age is more culprit. Have you had a thorough blood workup? Is it possible there may be something else going on here? Do any of these symptoms seem to be hereditary?
I am not a Doctor. My advice is purely my opinion and should be regarded as such.
