MDJunction to me

jpcrps"When I found MD Junction, I was in the beginning stages of RSD/CRPS. I was scared, lacked knowledge about the condition, and felt very alone.

MD Junction changed all of that for me. I found friendship and terrific information from people who had first-hand knowledge of this syndrome. It was and still is a big part of my life.

MDJ was my first step on the journey of grief; from denial to acceptance. I am now inspired to help others by sharing this amazing site and sharing my own experiences. I am very impressed that one forum site can provide hope and inspiration to people suffering from so many different conditions. I am proud to be a part of this community.

I know I was suppose to wait until 18 months after surgery, but I have been told since I was 19 that I would never have children or that if I did I would need to have a lot of fertility treatments, so me and my husband have never taken any precautions.

So surprise I am now 4 1/2 months pregnant. My doctor watches me closely and so far everything is great with the baby, it's growing the way its suppose to. However I am very sick all the time.

I am so tired no matter how much I sleep, and everytime I eat I get nauseous. My doctor has given me meds for the nauseau but it doesn't seem to be helping. I know lots of women who have used this same medicine with great success. So I am wondering if these problems are because of the surgery?? It also seems that everytime I eat and get nauseous I also get extreme exhaustion. I don't always throw up, but I do dry-heave to the point that I get bloody noses and it hurts my back. I could really use some suggestions.

My doctor does know about this, but she isn't familiar with gastric bypass and I hate to say it but where I currently live the docs here aren't exactly the brightest. The closest surgeon is 600 miles away. Regular doctors are even seeing new patients here for like 2 years.

I don't know if it's related to the surgery or not. But, I do know that many pregnant women have trouble with morning sickness! Sick I imagine the baby is making your tiny pouch even tinier. Have you tried eating different foods that might not upset your tummy, like dry toast? The exhaustion could be a symptom of dumping. I always feel super tired when I'm in dumping-mode.

See if you can find the trigger, and cut down your sugars and fats (sugar alcohols are bad, too!). It might be a good idea to go back to the basic diet you were on right after surgery. Bring in one new food at a time so that you can get a better idea of what is aggravating your pouch.

I hope that helps. Hopefully someone who has experienced pregnancy after GBS will spot your post.

And, I was wondering if you've been overweight since you were 19? Perhaps the weight loss has given you the ability to have children again. Smile

I am not a Doctor. My advice is purely my opinion and should be regarded as such.

I have tried going back to a basic diet and re-introducing food, hasn't made much of a difference! I unfortunately get all day sickness. Even water can make me ill at this point. I continue to eat and try for the healthiest things, as long as im not throwing up and the baby continues to be healthy I will manage, was just wondering if anyone had experienced this!

I've always been overweight, but at 19 I only weighed 165lbs and was very healthy, I was diagnosed with pcos which yes can be because of weight but it can alse be genetically passed on. The weight loss could have shocked my system and potentially helped with the pcos. However almost all of the doctors and specialists said that weight loss would help but I would still have to use fertility drugs.

I guess doctors don't know everything!!! LOL!
