Help! I'm over three weeks out since my bypass.I started having trouble with bowel movements.I can go three or more days without one.I added Metamucil twice aday but not much luck. I have already started eating

stage 4 foods and handling it all fine. Little meat, veggie and fruit. Just continue passing some gas but not many bowel movements is this normal? When i last saw the doctor he said they move around alot of the colon and it is not abnormal to have slow bowel movements. Gosh it's just uncomfortable.

Hello, I am about 6 weeks out and still have issues with this rather delicate topic Wink I was in 2 weeks ago for a 1 month check up and my Doc's PA recomended that I try Senna. You can ask your doc about it too, but its an all natural vegetable laxative (with out the "hurry up get me to a restroom" reactions.)

My PA also said that your BM's will change as what you are eating had everything to do with how often you will visit the restroom. She told me know to worry if I go 2-3 days between each BM. I am still working on getting to that point, but we have made some radical changes to our system and I think it will just take some time.

See what your doc thinks of the Senna thing. And if you get worried or have questions, call their clinic and talk to a nurse. I know that the Doctor that did mine has a huge "team" that all works together from start to finish and they are always telling me to call if I need anything.

Hope things get better for you.

I did speak to the dietation who told me to use fleet suppositoy and 3 ducolax. Believe me i spent most of yesterday in the bathroom but it was a relief! Now maybe i can begin losing alittle more weight now that i'm all cleanned out. I can eat just about anything just not as much. I usally take in small meat(chicken/fish, I even made my own chicken salad with crackers and I had no problems and veggie. mash tators are very good.I'm now 25days since my procedure.

Wow granny; you are a better woman than I...lol... My doc is really strict and didn't allow us any solids for 7 weeks. 3 weeks liquid, 3 weeks soft food, then slowly introduce one solid item a day from then on.
