Hi, everyone. I had my surgery Wednesday and I'm back home now. Everything went very well with the procedure. Thanks to all of you for the well wishes and prayers.

I'm feeling a bit of pain obviously and the pain meds are working great. I'm still a bit lightheaded, but doing very well. No nauseau, thank goodness! I'm not as gassy as I've heard from the boards. Not sure if that's good or bad. Perhaps Bailey's peppermint tea recommendation is the reason. Smile

I'm excited to be healed and for the weight to start coming off. I'm glad I have you all with me.

I am not a Doctor. My advice is purely my opinion and should be regarded as such.

It is, trust me Smile That peppermint tea is the reason why I didn't have half as much gas or pain as some others who had surgery, so it looks like it might have saved you too Smile

You won't need the pain meds long usually, I only took them for about 4 or 5 days, and then I didn't need them anymore.

Don't be too worried if it takes a little while, a couple of weeks before it starts to come off. That's quite normal.

Congrats, and glad your doing well, apparently I was a lucky one that didn't really get gas? So hopefully you are as well! And just like manxbailey says it will take a few weeks for you to noticeably see the weight coming off, and I know myself I felt like well maybe the surgery didn't work, or I don't see any results, somethings gotta be wrong? And I'm not sure if these are normal feelings or not, but I'm just letting you know if you get these feelings and need to talk I am here! Take care, and feel better, it only goes up from here!

Yeah, that is a very common feeling. Because you worry that the surgery has failed, when you have this unrealistic mental expectation you will drop 7 clothes sizes in the first week after surgery, and it doesn't do that. Most people have a slow start, and then it starts properly, and once it starts, it really starts!

I only lost about 7 or 8 pounds the first month. I then lost 42 pound in the next 6 weeks. So, it builds up. I had a lot to lose though Smile

I haven't needed pain meds today. I'm still sore, but I think that's gassy build-up (it won't come out) or maybe I'm hungry. LOL I have to learn what that sensastion feels like! I'm still walking a bit hunched over, but I can sleep on my back. Thanks everyone!

I'm glad your well, and you didn't get the gas. Believe me, it's no fun.

I'm only 40 days post op and I'm feeling really good. I was one of those that regretted the surgery because I couldn't put what I wanted in my mouth. I have slowly gotten over that, but it hasn't been easy.

As I chug along and move forward I know I'm right where I need to be. I start working out this week, so I know the weight loss will move even faster.

Well, good luck to you and keep me posted.

Cheers!
