Hi, I have a son who is 6 years old and has a severe allergie to tree nuts and peanuts and for is very hard to be relaxed when we are togheter. He's had 3 reactions until now and all of them I was the one who fed him with something that he's allergic to. Now, I feel like neurotic, because I catch myself checking even an vanilla ice cream just to make sure that there's no nuts/peanuts. I feel safe when my husband is around. Next month We'll be going to Brazil to visit my family and my husband is not coming and I don't know what to do. I even tought of cancelling the trip, but I haven't seen my family in 5 years.I'm very afraid that it could happen again. The last time was very scary. He had to be incubetade (?) and spend a day at ICU. If anybody had a similar experience, please let me know what you did not to be always so scared.Thank you

I haven't been in a position like yours, but it sounds like you and Tobie, who posted here about a week before you have a lot in common. Maybe she has some tips for you.

I found some websites that may also help with the traveling, though probably not the anxiety.
