Hi Everyone,

Well I guess you all know me under different circumstances, but I think it is time I become a little more active in this group.

My baby daughter has food allergies.

She is allergic to milk and to the proteins found in soy which makes it kind of hard with all the common baby food available.

She is now 6 months old and its time for my wife to stop breast feeding, we are seeking some solutions.

We are told that in most cases these kinds of allergies go away by the end of the first year, I hope so – but there is still 6 months to go….

I’d appreciate any idea you guys/gals have.

CU

Hi Roy, I am sorry to hear that your baby is allergic to milk and soy. That is tough when she is so little. I have read that there are some hypoallergenic formulas, though they are expensive and I don't know if they are easy to find or if you would have to order them (I don't have kids so I don't know this stuff). A few kids still react to the hypoallergenic kind. If your daughter is one of those then I am not really sure what to do.

The only other thing I can think of is to try something strange like goat's milk (who knows where you would find it and she might react to that too). Did her doctor have any ideas?

If it were anyone but you I would suggest they do some internet research...but somehow I think you will have thought of that already.

I hope she outgrows these allergies soon. It certainly makes things challenging right now.
