I just saw the allergist today because the food allergies have become more frequent, more intense, and more random.

Last week I had to call 911 for an almond reaction that caused my throat to almost swell shut.

The allergist says the only things I'm not allergic to on his panel of tests is milk, codfish, egg whites, and egg yolks.

Also, tested positive for everything else except dogs, molds, and duck feathers.

So weird. My body is in complete havoc!

Is there anything I can do naturally to make my allergies better so I can eat some of these foods again.

I miss my watermelon, bananas, wheat, corn, and everything else. I love to cook and now I'm stuck eating the most bland food ever and hardly cooking at all. Sad

Any ideas?

I'm curious as to what his recommendations were to you.

I also seem fairly limited in foods.

I only tested positive to 5 foods but have many more reactions.

I've heard of people taking something called gastrocom before meals so that they are able to eat and not react.

I'm wondering if you need to be on a routine antihistamine or if some type of vitamin supplements would help bring you out of this?

I think we both do need to investigate what can be done for this situation.

It's very difficult to feel as if you're playing Russian roulette with food.

Keep on touch-I am also struggling.

Thank you Damselindistress. I am on a claritin daily and take Vitamin B12 injections and a multi-vitamin and fish oil everyday. NO CHANGE in food allergies.

I'm sick across the board and the food allergies is just a really annoying symptom of what ever bigger is going on inside me.

The docs haven't figured it out yet, but they have narrowed it down to either Lyme or Auto-Immune of some sort.

I just feel like there should be something I can do to make it better, ya know?

Each reaction is scarier and scarier and when it happens I get so worked up and upset that it happened.

Having to call 911 was a huge thing for me as I'm a PARAMEDIC. I have never had to call 911 for myself, well except for a severe trauma I suffered in 05, but that was different.

This to me seems like something I might have to call for, more frequently and then the medics are going to get so sick of me.

I do have an epi pen now and hopefully that will keep me from having to dial those 3 numbers the next time it happens.

Sorry to hear your so badly allergic to so much! I did a less thorough scratch test and was allergic to it all... Very sad news to have. Food becomes very dull for sure. I still eat foods that don't close up my throat, just with TONS of water. Keeping anxiety lower, and water, help me the best. My allergist told me it is not keeping my mood balanced for years that caused my chemical sensitivity. Good luck with this crappy situation! I hope you don't have to call an ambulance again!

@Aliker:

Have you seen an immunologist/allergist? All my tests came back negative too. I almost died of an anaphylactic attack 32 months back and was saved by the Epi-Pen. I did every test that was available. And I kept reacting. All doctors were baffled. They had no idea to why I was having anaphylactic episodes after episodes. Because of the immunologist/allergist's experience, he could conclude that I was salicylate sensitive. And the over accumulation caused my body to go into overdrive and reacted in an anaphylaxis reaction. I hope I am making sense. You can google salicylate sensitive and read about it. Or even idiopathic anaphylaxis. Try to google the food that you are eating and see what component they have in common. And some people go into food elimination. But only do this under the supervision of your doctor. In some cases, after eliminating the food which caused them to react, re-introducing it caused severe reactions which resulted in death.

I hope you will be able to find your answers.

Take care and all the best.

hey all

- i hold my breath in the cleaning isleS of the supermarket... - its a mad dash to the safe products - nobody understands unless they can relate. - the supermarket is stressfull!- all these products (say at least 90%) - all UNSAFE and POISENIOUS to me.

i hate the supermarket - i hate public places -and now my town has been smogd n poisened by some stupid fool drink driving a container ship full of TOXIC POISEN's into our beach!!! (RENA) - i cant move away - i must sit in my own nightmare! - breathing, drinking, bathing in ????????? - who knows!

MCS seems a cruel punishment - there is NO getting away from allergens - i am imagining building myself some sort of bubble to live in. - or mabee tomorrow ill wake up and it will be gone - all better - why do i head trip myself?

at night i am making myself breath! like quite literally i have to remind my body to breath!! im kinda scared i mite die in my sleep - but then its been ten years now so i guess id be dead if it was goiNg to kill me!

thanks for sharing your stories - its a hard lonely road.

PS does anyone else know what first triggered there sensitivities?

ALSO does anyone else get emotional symptoms as a physical symptom? for example my reactions are usually 4 days, the first 2 days are physical (xtream pain, mygranes, soupy brain.....) then i get 2 days of PHYCO LOOOONEY, emotional, poor me - thats when i do STUPID things like melt hot metal thro my skin just to see if i still feel pain or to "shift the pain". - this is NOT ME its a reaction - same shit every time, but of course the doctor dosnt listen - see;s self harm and labels me with MAJOR DEPRESSION - how the FUK is that going to help me? - now i look at my arm and think - you STUPID FOOL - my child asks how i did it - i told her the grill of the oven.....

WORD FOR THE DAY: CYCLICITY

Voiless, that is so aweful. Please don't hurt yourself, as much as the pain is bothering you, I hate to see you harm yourself further.

I do understand. Something I've noticed... since you mentioned the physical/emotional reactions. When my hormones are out of whack or my period is coming, my allergies get much work. After an accumulation of allergies, the histimines released in my body are overwhelming which feels like ANXIETY. Because histimes cause the heart rate to come up, and everything to go into overdrive (kidneys, liver, brain, etc) it makes me feel sooooo freaking crazy.

Lately, I've been relying on anti-anxiety medicine, and calming measures such as the yoga, meditation. The sauna is also great if you have a place you can go sweat out some of the toxins in your body, just make sure you drink a lot of water if you are drawing toxins out. It helps for a little while and it sure beats burning yourself.

I'm seeing a new allergist on wednesday and also a rheumatologist soon. When I have more answers, I will come back and try to help you all. In the meantime, hang in there everbody and don't give up.

"Allergic to everything!!! " Me too. It's very frustrating and lonely/isolating. Every time I leave my house I take a risk. I think I'll let my signature speak for itself. Looking for others who are like me. I found one woman who is like me in the UK: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2055567/Woman- allergic-nearly-says-prisoner-home-NHS-halts-funding-daily- vaccine.html
"Everyone is struggling with something, whether it's physical pain or emotional pain." - unknown

"In real life we hardly relize we receive a great deal more than we give. It is only with gratitude that life becomes RICH." - unknown

Allergic to:

Medicines: acetaminophen, albuterol inhaler, atrovent inhaler, polyethylene glycol, senokot, Azo dyes (the # dyes) and PEG in pill coatings.

Inhaleds: tree, grass, weed, mold, poinsettias, latex, peanut, perfumes and colognes, cigarette smoke.

Foods: all legumes(peanut, soy, beans, etc), all nightshades (tomato, potato, tobacco, paprika, peppers, etc), all grains and grasses (including wheat, barley, rye, rice, corn, soy, bamboo shoots, ALL grains and grasses literally), all treenuts, all birds and bird eggs, moldy cheeses, cheeses with annato, all food dyes (the azo dyes also known as the dyes with the # sign), most food additives, cochineal, anything bee (honey, beeswax, bee strings), banana, wines with high sulfites.

I eat: beef, pork, venison, white fish, real dairy butter, plain yogurt, cooked carrots, cooked apples, prunes, white sugar, lemon, pink himalayan salt, coffee, chocolate (plain Baker's unsweetened). Oh yes! I just added sweet potatoes back into my diet - YAY!

I am pretty much a shut-in working from home, eating out is always a "no", and venturing to a bar means calling ahead to see if they will stop selling the peanuts for the evening. It's pretty much a major production for me to go anywhere.
