Please, help, I am so confused about my diagnosis. Four months ago I experienced some slight wheezing while eating nuts. It happened again a few weeks ago, only this time it was more severe, so I went to an allergist. He tested me for food allergies and the skin test showed I was allergic to crab. He told me that I was probably also allergic to nuts, since I had the reaction, and he gave me an epi-pen, plus sent me for blood tests to confirm. I had what I thought was a reaction to the tests, and was itchy/headachey for two days after. I was prescribed prednisone, and felt immediately better. In addition, the rash that's been on my face for almost three years on and off, disappeared. Well, today, the nurse called and said that I do NOT have any allergies according to the blood test, and that I may just be "sensitive" to those foods, but that I should still carry my epi-pen as a precaution. I am so confused. Can the test be wrong? Should I get a second opinion? Why are they asking me to carry epi if I don't really have allergies? She also told me not to eat crab or tree nuts, as a "precaution". What gives? Thanks in advance to anyone who can advise.

hi im no expert but hyave enough food allergies to fill a book

precautions means that

yes you are allergic to crab and nuts

so if you eat nuts sorry but the er is where youre going to land...

but the best advice is to not eat anything with crab in it or nuts

and test can be wrong very wrong
