MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

Well, today I put extra thought and patience into my gorcery list. I bought a special cookbook with healthy recipies, that aren't too time consuming and don't have strange, hard to find ingredients (a pitfall in the past).

I also got a notebook to journal in. I'd like to keep better track of what I'm eating. I will also mark down when I exercise and for how long.

Does anyone have any other ideas/suggestions that have helped them?

Thanks!

All sounds like very good, thoughtful steps, TerriTee. Maybe that's the big thing, just being thoughtful in your care as you go! keep us posted as you go!

Well doing good today, so just hope I can keep it up, Got to make myself determined to lose weight and do the exercises. Starting slow on exercises since I haven't done any in a long time

Well, my journal was a big help. I started writing everything I eat and when, how many calories, when I exercise, etc.

My big problem time is from when I get home until dinner is ready. I seem to want to eat everything in sight!!!! And, if I'm in the kitchen fixing dinner . . .

So, today I fixed dinner in the slow cooker - it was ready 1/2 hour after i got home. I spent that time doing yoga nidra, away from the kitchen Smile

I stared a food tracking journal and i have to say that I didn't realize just how much I was eating! All those little between meal snacks really add up over a days time. This is going to be a great motivational tool for me. Thanks for the great idea!
The first thing I have to do is start to love and appreciate myself by recognizing that i'm really a strong and talented person with a lot to give.

Yeah, I used that for a few months or so one time. It is definitely an eye opener!
