Hi I'm Megan I'm 17 and a senior in high school. Normally I'm not one to go searching for someone to lean on, but things have been a little crazy lately so I thought why not? I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia less than a month ago. The process as I'm sure you guys know was frustrating, but I'm super happy that there is a name for it, at least no more explaining seemingly random symptoms and recieving strange faces from doctors lol. I am very into travel and history and am very active usually running or rowing on a crew team, but obviously that is limited now. I'm applying to colleges now and hoping to go for anthropolgy and archeology! I'd love to learn more. So far I dont know much about fibromyalgia except its preventing me from doing what I like. I'd also like to learn more about how to deal with it while exercising and competing at the same time. hope to find some support and give some too!

I am chickiepoo, one of the group leaders on the support group site. I am a 38 year old who got fibro at age 12 yrs. old. To get aquantitied with our rules and what is ok to say to people. Go to forumns then go to general &support, from there you can click on fibroteens need to knows: Also there is a link to Stories From the Heart. Some of us have told our personal stories there. Feel free to add your own. If you need anything just personal message me. Most people swear by hotpads here for our aches and pains. As far as exercising I have found that amino acids really help me with the pain after the work out. I hope you enjoy our tight little group here. We are one big family of people who are in the same boat as you and we understand what you are going thru. Take care.

Love ya,

chickiepoo
