MDJunction to me

cappymuir"MDJunction means to me the freedom to express my feelings without being interrupted and knowing there are others that can share their experience too. As a Leader it is a to show compassion and give support to all the members and always listen to each one's needs. Sometimes I may not be able to relate, so I view the responses that do relate and happy to see the results. I am proud to be a member of MDJunction and share it with all I meet that need support. I am glad to be an advocate for many different areas that MDJunction fills." (cappymuir)

Hi guys,

Let me start by saying - I'm so thrilled I found this group! I don't know anyone in my area with fibro, and I've been searching the internet madly for weeks to find a support group geared towards teens, and finally managed to dig this one up.

My name is Allie, I'm 18 years old, just starting my second year in University (Piano Performance major).

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about a month ago, although I have been struggling with the symptoms for a very long time now.

It's been a really frustrating year, and I'm really worried about how I am going to make it through school, if it is even possible at this point. My doctors have pretty much dropped the ball, & I'm feeling pretty helpless. Being away from home doesn't make it any easier, either.

Looking forward to meeting you all,

~ Allie

Group Leader

Welcome Allie,

I'm so glad you found our group. I am one of the group leaders here. I also suffer from migraines. They didn't start really until I had this disease for 5 years, the same year I got diagnosed. I was 17 then I'm 38 now. I just want to be up front about it. There are people over teenage years, but only if they got fibro as a teen. We feel you can gain knowledge from us veterans. I had to drop a few classes in the year I went to college because of my migraines. I never went back because I met my husband and that was enough for me. Let me invite you to go to the forums, general and support and then click on the thread Fibroteens Need To Knows. While in general and support you can also check out the thread Stories From The Heart. Feel free to add your story to the others if you want. You will find the stories of all the group leaders there as well as members of the site. I hope you make lots of friends here. We are a family here. Take care.

Love ya,

chickiepoo
