MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

Hi, my daughter has just turned 12 and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia this year and is finding it very hard to find anyone around her age who also has the condition. She would love to make friends with any other girl/boy around her age who also has the condition, as she struggles to talk to people who understands what it is she's going through. If my daughter can find mutual friends, then she will have an account on here so that she can talk with them. Smile

She will absolutely be able to find friends on here. I myself got fibro when I was 12, but wasn't diagnosed until I was 17. I am one of the group leaders here. I am actually 38 and nicknamed fibromama. I have 2 other girls that help me out here Mandie & annamarie. They are teens. I took up this cause because I wanted to reach teens who went thru the same things that I did. To share my knowledge. Not that I am claiming to know any cures, believe me I wish I did. For all our sakes. If you need anything don't hesitate to personal message me.

Sign her up! It's important for her to have people to talk to who can relate to her first hand. Family and friend support is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, but there will be those times when she just needs to talk with someone who knows what she is going through first hand. Here, she can ask questions and hear other peoples stories. It will let her know she is not the only one dealt this unfortunate hand. And for you, there is the Fibro Mate support group. It can be difficult for families to navigate as well, so it might be helpful for you to talk with people who do it every day. here's the link

Good luck, and we are always here to help in any way we can. I look forward to hearing from your daughter!

Thank you for your message. My daughter has joined the Teens group, her name is shayer. She would love to here from other teens, so if anyone can get in touch with her she'd love it! Especially as she's off school today and is having a rough day Sad
