MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

What do you guys do to stay positive? Smile

I've found that keeping a positive mentality and happy spirit helps me get through it all, especially the bad days.

Hey!

Hmm... I try to focus on little happy things. I may not be able to walk well, but I can still hang out with my friends even if it's in a wheel chair. And I may not be very active in the theatre world anymore, but I can do crafts at home. Laughing

Welcome to the family! I agree - staying positive gets me though the hard days.

First of all - I have a dog - I just adore her!

Second, I have you guys! This place is like a second home!

And third, I just believe that I'm gonna be okay. I believe in the good. That's how I make it through the really bad days.

I also have a collection of positive quotes that I love! I have a thread on here with some of them - I'll try to get back to posting! Thanks for remining me!

Marissa: Girl, it is seriously one of THE best things to cope with the pain. Honestly, sometimes I get so happy that I totally forget that I'm hurting. It's like I jump into the pain free body that I USED to have. If you ever need to talk, I'm always here and you can message me. I've been dealing with chronic pain since elementary school, so I've done pretty well in finding things that work and how to maintain it. I'd love to help you!

"SquishyTechie" : That's a great attitude to have! Sure, our BODIES may be limited, but our spirit is NOT! We all have many things to be thankful for. We're human, and it gets hard and depressing at times, but never let it define you.

Anna Marie: Animals are awesome best friends when you're stuck at home! My dog Kira is definitely my #1 girl Smile You have a great attitude towards what you're going through. It gets hard but God will help us through any and everything we go through.

You're all beautiful and I hope you're all doing well. Smile

Hey girls! I wrote this over at the othe fibro group as part of a "fight club manual" for fibrowarriorrs Smile this thread made me think of it!

Would you guys be interested in making something like that over here?

Rule # 2. Stay positive

Glass half empty, or glass half full? It’s an antiquated question, but it affects each and every one of our lives daily.

You are in pain, and cannot get out of bed. Can’t go to work, go to school, meet with your friends. But, your dog or cat is sitting right next to you, and you’re talking to your lovely friends on MDJ. Would this have happened if you were at work?

I don’t know if I believe that everything happens for a reason, but I do believe you can give a reason to everything that happens.

A bad day teaches me a lot about myself. A slow day helps me see the world in a new light. A painful day shows me that I can be happy even when I hurt.

So, put a good spin on a bad day. And most importantly, believe that tomorrow will be better:

“learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow”

Just… stay positive!

*i believe in the good*

Mandie laughter is the best medicine. When you need cheering up just put in a funny movie or watch the comedy channel. And I love you girl. How far are you from Peoria? Just curious, I have an aunt and uncle close to there. Just wish you lived closer to Kansas. I know I would love for you to meet the family sweetie. I know Cody would love to meet you.

Kel- welcome I'm not sure I have seen you on here before. I am the only adult group leader. My story is on the thread stories from the heart. I have a lot of things in my life that keep me positive: my husband, kids, nephew's, neice, brother, father, sisterinlaw that I love like a sister, 3 dogs, grandma & a lot of family that live nearby. I have a lot to be thankful for. Including all my fibroteens who I treasure. Old and new friends here. I think laughter helps too. If you need anything feel free to pm Annamarie, Mandie, or myself.

Love ya,

chickiepoo
