Hello, Welcome to our group! I don't live in OK, however, you should be able to search on the web for a rheumatologist near you. When you find one, call them first and ask if they have a Dr. in that office who treats Fibromyalgia patients. Wishing you best of luck in your search! Celeste.

Hi! The national fibromyalgia group lists fibro doctors by state. Check the Oklahoma list here http://www.fmaware.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=7214

Let us know how it goes.

Stephanie,

Read up on Dercum's diease. If you think you may have DD, print off copies of the info. Send it to your rheumatologist before your next visit. (this gives them a few days to review the info and look up more info that they may need) Most Dr.s have never heard of DD. and can get very embarassed and frustrated when you come in and they don't know anything about the disease you are telling them you think you could have. Sending the info will help the Dr. to diagnose you when you come in for your next appointment. Most Dr.s are so appreciative that you let them know about DD before your appointment. It just helps them to be more prepared.

Hugs, Celeste.

stephanie0508 I know I that was an old post but you said Dr. Zanetakis is a good doctor for fibro? Does she help treat the pain as well. I have tried neurotin, savella, and lyrica which was the worst and caused me to gain weight. I haven't had much luck with drs and I'm kind of dr shy, I just had a rheumatologist tell me "the word is still out on fibro, not sure if it exists." I don't want anymore of those drs. Thanks for your imput.
