MDJunction to me

aTinaL"To me, Mdjunction comes down to motivation. The support and information I have found here motivated me to take a very proactive stance regarding my illness. This led me to find medication and doctors that are giving me my life back.
More important than even the motivation, though, is the friendship I have found at MDJ. I have made some of the best friends of my entire life right here in this group. Even though most of us have never met, it feels as if we have known each other for years.
If Angels walk among us, and I believe that they do, most of them are here at MDJ.

I thought some of you might be interested in these articles, especially those who are having problems getting the appropriate pain management.

Any advice that I share is only that - my advice. I am not a doctor or expert in anything, except maybe experiencing pain. My "words of wisdom" come from my experiences or my research only.

Carla,

Do you think that someone is finally listening to us. I hope that some of the studies at NIH include pain with fibromyalgia.

At least not everyone thinks that someone in uncontrolled pain is CRAZY.

I was encouraged after reading this. It sounds like someone is listening and actually doing something about it. Let's keep our finger crossed.

I got this back today:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the National Pain Care Policy Act (S.660). I appreciate receiving your views on this matter.

As you may know, Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) introduced S.660 on March 19, 2009. This bill would establish the Pain Consortium, which would be responsible for establishing a national research agenda and convene annual conferences related to pain research. Additionally, this bill would establish a pain care outreach program to further education and awareness of this often debilitating condition. This bill has been referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, where it awaits further consideration.

I will keep your views in mind should S.660 or similar legislation come before the full Senate. Thank you again for contacting me.

Sincerely,

Carl Levin
