I've been trying to read through all the topics(sorry if I missed it), but has anyone been on Provigil? I've been having trouble lately with both pain and fatigue, to the point of nodding off in the car while driving my children. I don't want to be on Provigil, but it is the only thing that can make me feel even remotely human. My pain doc also wants me start Lyrica. I don't love the idea of so much medication, but I guess whatever gets you through the day!

Has anyone else had experience with Provigil?

HI... YEs I have been on Provigil for about a yr now.......

And I know there are some who don't like it like I do not like Fentanyl, but as for me....Provigil has been a life saver..... I am able to think, concentrate and carry on conversations. Where as before do to the meds I was not..... I have heard of terrible side effects from this drug.....I for one am very, very sensitive to meds have had no reaction what so ever except good... If I take my Provigil I feel awake, alert and can do all the thing I said above..... It is for me the one and only med that has truely worked to help my condition get better..........

As always, not every med is for everyone... and if you are thinking about it.....research it.....very very carefully....... watch what meds you are taking with it......... and there inter-action with it.....

Good luck..... I pray you find what you are looking for and have a pain free day and then life....

Craig

I was on it once and I loved being on it. It gave me energy. The doctor that gave it to me and I am no longer seeing. I am going to ask my PCP and Rhumy if they can prescribe it for me.

I would love to try the Provigil, but Medicaid won't pay for it and it costs $400 a month at my pharmacy! If you can get it covered by ins. or partly covered, I certainly would give it a try!

I am taking provigil. It has been a life saver for me too. I couldn't function during the day because of the fatigue. It was so bad. When I take it I feel so much more alert and can think straight and get things done. For me I don't feel any side effects from it. I can tell when it is wearing off, but by then my day is starting to slow down. I do have a few days I can go without it, but then I have times where I do need it everyday. It is worth trying if you can get it. My doctor gave me a sample pack to try first.

I know this may have been talked about and anwered before so please forgive me in advance, but does this help with falling asleep at weird times. I fall asleep while driving. Like yesterday I fell asleep three times while driving a 20 min drive to get my daughter. The day before I fell asleep driving home from my sons school which is 5 minutes from my house. I started through the green light and fell aslssp and almost hit a light pole. How can you fall asleep that fast. I also have these episodes where I have to go to sleep. I go to sleep, wherever I am. I fall into a deep, unarrousable sleep for around 2 hours and then I wake up, but I never feel refreshed. I am still tired. My husband says it is like I am in a coma when I do this. What is going on? Does anybody do this?

I to get so exhausted that I fall asleep but not like in a coma. I got so exhausted at work I had to crawl under my desk and pass out. How embarrassing, luckily I have a door so hopefully no one noticed. I fall asleep driving but not all of the way. I usual keep the windows down and the music up to help with this.

Sometimes it's hard to walk, talk, or even know what's going on in my own mind. But as long as I have a smile on my face I can give a little bit of sunshine!
