Just a word to the wise.. in our quest to feel better I really encourage people to avoid using hormone creams and such without having bloodwork to verify if your hormones are off.

Most holistic doctors now a days think the majority of women are estrogen dominant- too much estrogen so a lot of women are using progesterone creams thinking they will help them feel better.

Since Hampton and I had bloodwork done for this doctor in Texas, WE BOTH have LOW ESTROGEN- not the high which is often being preached about by most holistic doctors.

This doctor in Texas also thinks we- fibro people- have an allergic reaction to our own progesterone.

He uses solutions to combat the negative side affects of progesterone and many people with fibro have experiences GREAT improvement and pain reduction just by doing that.

Anyway I bought into this estrogen dominance idea when I was starting to flare years ago. I went out and bought PROGESTERONE CREAM and used it for a few months and my symptoms got worse. Looking back using the progesterone cream may have made things worse- at least by Dr. Roby's standards.

Please get your hormones checked before you use any. I'll be seeing this doctor on the 22nd and if I have good results from his treatment- he really might be on to something that most doctors- even other holistic ones- are not totally practicing.

It's easy to try all kinds of things trying to feel better but hormones are not something to play with. I might have made myself worse from doing so.!!!

PS- Men with fibro- this Dr. also thinks your problems have to do with hormone imbalances too so you can get help from this treatment obviously geared toward males- thought you should know!

HI... I guess they might be right.... about the hormones... we all have them.... and I do agree with the useage of the hormonal cream... And again that the right way to do testing is like Hampton had...

But I know a few like I think 6 all total Holistic Dr. and none of them preach to high hormonal balances on anyone..... Dr. Peggy who is kind of a legend around this part of the world... she flies all over treating people.... She Told me TONIGHT, because I called her to ask her her thoughts on this...We are also friends so she didn't mind to much that I called her late....well not to much.....aaaaa What she said was you can only come up with that conclusion of hormoneal imbalance after intense interviewing the patient and trying a couple of different remedies to see how the patient reacts, (how the patient reacts is the testing method to finding if it is something like hormonal inbalance.)and that it matters what the symptoms are as to what remedy is given.... She said I is like pelling an onion... its one layer at a time.... and to just jump at hormonal imbalance is wrong..

What this is all about .... is ... I just think the words "most of" or "all of" any thing is wrong..... because I know 6 holistic Dr, and none of them to my knowledge preach this.... I know this as for women because a couple of ladies I know as good friends go to one or the othe of the 6 and they we not told this... and I was not told this...... sorry.. just had to put my 2 cents worth in..... hope I did not offend any one....

No offense taken. I know whatever this other doctor is doing is not that well known. I know Hampton is pain free. This doctor also personally told me that if his approach does not help me he will not charge me- pretty hard offer to pass up.

In my opinion lots of people are diagnosed with fibro and maybe some of us have it for different reasons. Maybe there isn't just one cause so I agree with you on that. I guess I'll know more once I see this doctor. If I'm helped then SOME fibro people may have some of this because of hormone stuff. Some people got help from the Fibro and Fatigue Centers that are around. I did not and I have friends on this forum who did not yet I know people personally in Cleveland who are better from going.

I saw a bunch of holistic doctors in my area too and no help. I guess everybody is different so I don't mean to make a blanket statement that this other guys approach will help everyone. It might not help me. But it MIGHT and I'm willing to try it unsure of what my results will be.
