MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunny_fly)

This is going to sound crazy, and this is so not like me.

Ok I have been on the Ultram for 8 days now and since it has been in my system I have not been myself.

For example I have been with my boyfriend for four years. He is a pretty good guy. I think he's the best boyfriend I have ever had! I have never been a violent person in all of my life!

So far I have slapped him in the head three times this week and I have never even raised a hand at him or any of my X's for that matter in the past.

I have been really hard on my kids this week as well. I have no patience for anyone and even manage to argue with my mom which is something that usually only happens once every few years or so. I have not been feeling right at all. I feel like I have lost my mind!

Do you think it's the Ultram? It's the only thing I'm on.

My boyfriend is understanding as he knows this is so umlike me.

Have you ever heard of Ultram making someone act this way?

I'm very concerned and don't know how to approach the doctor with this.

When I slapped my boyfriend I didn't do it very hard but still the fact that I did it does not sit well with me.

I'm serious I am not me anymore!

Well Cadburry, I am also on ultram. When it comes to dealing with my kids....I too have no patience with them. As for my husband, he too is on ultram for his back, so we are fine together. I don't really feel like my self when on it. I only try to take if I really have to, if the pain is so bad . It is not fare for the kids to be getting yelled at for no reason. You might want to talk to the doctor about it. Coming from my expierence with it is normal. But you doc might have something else that you can take.

Cadburry,

I just thought of something. Did you start taking the Prednisone?

That stuff will make you very ancy, jumpy, growl at people, etc... They get you all pumped up, so to speak.

Cadburry, In my humble opinion, I think you should call your doc. From what it seems like you are describing, there is a sense of alarm that has risen in you. If your doc is anything like mine, they will WANT to know if you are having some difficulty. That is what they are there for...to help answer questions and concerns. They may decide to keep you on the Ultram for a little longer, but each person is different. I think it is at least worth a call.

Best of luck to you! Keep us updated on how you are doing.

I'm only on the prednisone now, but I was acting this way before I was on it. I seem to be getting worse although I have not hit my boyfriend again. I'm still very agitated. I think it might just be that I'm miserable and in allot of pain.

I'm scared to talk to my doctor about it because then they will try to put me on some medicine that makes me sick.

I have just lost hope I guess.

I mean my house is a disaster and I have no one to help me clean it because when my boyfriend works he thinks he doesn't have to do anything. Thats about my only complaint with him.

I'm in way to much pain to do anything and all I want to do is go to bed and I can't even do that because of appointments and kids.

I know it must be that I'm just miserable now that I'm off the Ultram.

Cadburry,

I wish I could give you a magic pill, I know that having pain day in & out will make you agitated.

I really hope they can find something to help you. When do you have your follow up appointment with the new doctor you are going to? Is it soon?

Please try not to let the house bother you to much, I was that way all the time & would flip out big time!

You can only do so much. I hope your pain eases up soon.

cadburry,

After reading about what you are going threw I did some looking to find anything that would cause what you have described. The one thing that I could find talked about a lot is not to take it with alcohol. I dont know if you drink or if this could be the reason. Then manufacture says to talk with your doc if you have any concerns. So like the other, I would urge you to talk with your pharmacy or doc right away. I personally would call the pharmacy first. They have more knowledge regarding medications then some doc. Not to say that the doc does not know what they are doing. Pharmacy workers talk with more people are have to keep up on medication mixtures.

Thank you everyone. I have calmed down a bit, but I'm very emotional.

Maybe it's everything I have been through and it's finally taking it's toll?

I don't drink when I'm on medication. I havn't had a drink since a Christmas party I went to last year, but thank you for looking into it for me! I really appriciate it!

you all are so great! I just want to make sure you know that!
