Right now I am on 60mg of Cymbalta a day and it is not working, my doctor wants to put me on Lyrica now. Im kind of leary about taking the Lyrica because of the side effects, although i had bad side effects from the Cymbalta... Just wondering if anyone has been on both before, and which was more effective and how the side effects of Lyrica are Vs. Cymbalta...

They both made me sick. I currently take nothing

I have heard more horror stories about the Lyrica than I have the Cymbalta though.

I have tried both cymbalta and Lyrica. Cymbalta agitated me so much I had to take Seroquil to calm me down. It was horrible and almost landed me in the hosp. I was on lyrica also. For 2 1/2 months. I gained 30 lbs and had to have my wedding ring cut off. I was so wiped out I could'nt drive.(it did help a bit for pain, though).

I think it retails about $175. My ins. charged $80. Neurontin is similar and a little cheeper(didn't work for me either). Good luck with the meds. Sorry I don't know of anything better.

My doctor just put me on Cymbalta. I don't know how quick it works but I am almost pain free after only 2 days on it. She also said she will cycle me between Flexeril and Baclofen so that they won't lose their effectiveness. As for the cymbalta, I notice that my head feels funny but I'm sure it will go away in time. I hope so anyway.

Thank the Lord we are talking about this drug. People need to know.

My pcp wants me on Lyrica because i am also prediabetic..... and they want to use it for that also.... a new nerve pain drug with shotgun use i guess...

My psych doctor eased me up on the Cymbalta to 90 mg and i also take the Lyrica. It helps for me at the higher dosage. I needed a change i had been on effexor for over 4 years when i changed.

Lyrica is the worst med besides tramadol, it is even worse. For me Lyrica has caused so many

side effects.

One was the double whammy it had because i was on MS Contin. Don't take the two at the same time unless you want to be wiped out.

By the time i swallow the Cymbalta, the Lyrica and two focaln pills and the ms contin. wooh.... i fight to stay awake.... this is too much something has to give....

Mostly mine are cognitive. I am an accountant and the Lyrica has caused me to have drug induced ADHA and now i am having to take two additional meds to counter Lyrica's side effects....

It causes me to sit and stare and lose more track of time than anything.....

I am going to ask my doctor to take me off of it

It has caused me months and months of grief and i almost lost my job over it.

THERE YOU HAVE IT, one more person's experience. I CHOOSE THE PAIN OVER THE LYRICA because i have to work, and it does not help me now maybe when i retire and the drug has been around longer it may make more sense to take it then...

Also, if i stop Lyrica lets see that is a copay of $40, plus another $40 for each of the two adhd drugs, gosh i just might be able to get a regular massage and go to excercise class to boot! There is a better way to spend my $ than Lyrica.

I am on both....I was on cymbalta at 60mg but I was a zombie...it did help my nerve pain along with the lyrica but I have reduced my dose of cymbalta to 20mg and I am much better...I take 225mg of lyrica with no side effects.

I'm just a bit weary of nerve drugs only because of what I experienced from Neurontin - involuntary movements, chattering and choping involuntary, and blurry vision.

My doctor concocted another combination of drugs, a new therapy: Cymbalta, CELEBREX, and Wellbutrin (because I was getting easily agitated...maybe it was the Cymbalta!) anyhow, this combo has worked very well. However when my hormones go haywire, or bad weather comes my way, I get the flare ups and I get it bad.

I know the dangers of Celebrex, but the stuffs good. I'd rather die without pain than live with it. lol (sorry, I'm a bit cynical today...I have some issues here at work and with pain)
