I don't know names for all of them but it would be a short list.

A. narcotic pain medicine- for me probably Hydrocodone

B. muscle relaxer- I havn't found one that works really well for me yet, but I know a good one would help allot

C. antiflamatory- not sure what one I would choose but it would be needed

D. some kind of sleeping pill so that I don't wake up all through the night

Thats what I think would give me a better life, but getting it is another story.

re: muscle relaxant - have you tried soma? it can cover both muscle spasm/pain and sleep. Might be difficult depending on doc 'cause it is addictive they say but if they scrip it and you only take it when absoltuly needed it really does help.

No I havn't tried soma. I don't know if I would want them to give it to me because then they probably wouldn't give me pain meds. I need pain meds for the times I wish to stay awake too. I also have arthritis so I need more than a muscle relaxer.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could tell the doctors exactly what we think would work for us and they were willing to try it. Can you imagine the releife we all might find.

- yes - agreed. And agreed as well that you have to weigh out what releife you really need the most. I am very blessed that my docs are not cavalier about drugs but they know i have to sleep. Still - if i used it and asked for it too freuently i would have the same issue.

I saw a news story a few days ago that predicted all narcotics within the next few years will be made with the type of compounds that make it very hard for people to abuse.

I wonder if that day will come when we can really get the best most effecitve treatment without all of this process - thinking, strategy, fear, etc. Good luck and god bless --

PS i haven't tried rozarium (spelling) but it is supposed to work with the sleep cycle NOT addicitve at all. I do a lot of that homeopathic stuff but really not that helpful - tea, bath etc...

Well, like Cadburry said, I don't have the narcotic but I have the muscle relaxer (Skelaxin), anti-inflammatory (Celebrex) and sleep aid (Ambien). I also take Vit D. However, I must need something else cuz the meds I currently have aren't enough.

In my perfect world, I would not have the fibro, but would have learned to slow down, take care of my body, and appreciate life the way I do now.
