I was wondering if anyone has had itching without rash and or ringing in the ears. Can this be a part of fibro? The itching is more of a prickly sensation.

Yes, I do have itching a lot! Even without a rash!! Ok, I'm going to copy something for you that I am reading in my Fibro. book. It tells about itching!

"When we itch, we often look for an allergic cause. We forget about sensory itch. There are, however, pressure-plate receptors in our outer skin layer called Merkel's discs. They translate the tactile messages received by the skin to the brain. When they don't know what message to send, they have a default mechanism. Unfamiliar sensations are translated as itch! It's my theory that due to the dysregulation of neurotransmitters in FMS and /or the mechanical constriction of fluids around the Merkel's discs, as well as hypersensitive autonomic nervous system, we itch a lot --much more than most folks. Cold helps to numb the itch because it numbs the pressure-plate receptors. Dryness makes the itch worse because it creates an enhanced pressure reception by the discs. There can also be a maddening inner ear itch caused by a masseter trigger point. It can be helped by acupressure in the depression that forms in front of the ear when the jaw is opened."

Ok, loong post, but maybe a little helpful? I got this info from the book "The Fibromyalgia Advocate" by Devin J. Starlanyl

Hope it helps a little

P.S. Yes get ringing in the ears sometimes too!
