Has anyone gone to one of these? What kind of treatments do they use? Did it work? Much of this is NOT covered by my insurance. We don't have $ to waste. How expensive are they. Are they just preying on the desprate?

I am a skeptic but I also can't stand to be in this kind of pain anymore. Any advise would be much appreciated.

I've been to a Holistic Medicine Doctor. I "really" liked her. Unfortunately, you are right. Most insurances don't cover this type of care.

I didn't have much luck there. She was great at giving suggestions in things to try, to help alleviate pain. Such as stretching, of course making sure to get enough rest, she does some chiropractic adjustments, tests to see if your body is lacking something. I am taking a multi-vitamin and magnesium that I still purchase from their office.

I wanted SO badly to try accupuncture. That is something that my insurance doesnt' cover. She told me that it's $65 each time. Also, that I would probably need at least 10 treatments to see any results, since my Fibro pain is really bad.

Oh! She also had me try a TENS unit. It was a free 60 day trial. But of course, that was another thing that my insurance didn't cover- so I had to return it.

All I can say is to maybe give it a try. When we're hurting as bad as we are- that's about all we can do, is try. I certainly wouldn't overdo with the money part though. It's probably not worth that. It's totally up to you though.

Good luck! Keep us informed on whether or not you try it and how it works out.
