don'tive up keep fighting no matter what. every time one person wins one of these battles it helps some one else to win there battle. eventually, hopefully it will get easier to get the proper treatment. I referead my doctor to this site so she could see what fibro is like and how others are treated. i don't know if she has checked it out yet but i know she would learn a lot. i wish you all the best of luck and will be praying for you. keep your chin up and try the baths and relaxation. they can help some.

Yes pls do not give up. I won't I can tell you that. I do not have insurance either and am not eligible for any kind of help because my dh makes too much! HA, what a joke.

I need a very expensive operation, could be a lifesaving operation. I have an aneurysm like John Ritter had, and I have a deformed aortic valve. I would say that operation would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and I really need it. BUT I cannot find any kind of help. I called the patient financial dept of the hosp I want to use. My payments would be MORE than my mortgage payment. It is so frustrating. So I got upset and told her fine I will just die then and hung up.

So anyway Pls do not give up.

Cadbury, don't give up. Is there any way you can see a different doctor? One doctor in the clinic where my provider is (I had to see her when my regular doctor was out because of serious pain in my neck) told me she would in no way give me pain meds. that the pain in my neck was all in my head and let me know that she thought I was a pill hunter. When my regular doc. got back I saw him and he referred me to a surgeon because he thought I had a pinched nerve in my neck. I saw the surgeon had tests and x-rays and had surgery for bone spurs on the bones in my neck that were pinching the nerves to my arms. He replaced 2 bones with bones from a bone bank and put springs in between them where cartilige used to be. Now my husband says I am a bobble head. My point is that one doc. may not be the one for you. My regular doc. told me the last time he saw me that if he gets investigated by the DEA he has to have documentation that I had pain severe enough to warrant the meds. he was giving me. He said otherwise he could get in serious trouble. Then when I saw my lawyer for my SSD claim he was checking out the drs. I have seen and one of them has been in trouble for over-perscribing. So I guess they have to watch themselves, but if a doctor told me there is no way they would give me pain meds. that I need, I would be looking elsewhere. I don't care if they did think I was just looking for drugs I would have to switch doctors. I also don't know how you are living with no pain meds. You must be in some serious pain. I will be praying for you. Jan

I am in some serious pain. I really wish I could change doctors, but being I'm on medicaid and they are going to do away with medicaid June 1st it wouldn't do any good.

I'm going to go back to the doctor that I had before getting medicaid when they take it away. He will probably want to know why no one has taken care of me properly

It will just be a constant struggle to come up with money for medical expenses once I have no insurance seeing how I'm unable to work.

I'm so stressed out

Does this mean you have to suffer like this until

June first? Maybe your old doctor would take you

back now since you will be going back there when the medicaid is discontinued. If I am misunderstanding, please forgive me, I am just trying to help.

What is everyone going to do June first when they lose their medicaid? The ED's will be full of patients that can no longer be seen at their regular physicians office. Do you agree?

I didnt realize Medicaid was ending... is this in all states? I am confused about it. I wish I was eligible for some sort of aid so I could get some proper treatment. I sit here trying to figure out, do I need to see a neurologist because my right leg is completely numb from the knee down and I have tingling and burning throughout and if you stick a needle in the bottom of my leg I cant feel it- OR do I see an ortho because my knees, hands, wrists and back hurt so much I cant walk. I dont want to waste my money. It is so frustrating

Hey Sandi, have you heard anything from SSD?

I'm just trying to get my diagnosis from the Rhuematologist before I don't have medicaid.

Yes the hospitals are going to be full and it will be a very long wait in the emergency department of every hospital resulting in people dieing over minor things simply because they were not reached in time.

There will still be a medicaid, but its only for those who are blind, disabled, or foster parents. Leaving out people like me who have a painful condition that leaves me unable to work.

I beleive medicaid should be available just as it was before but also for people who will die without medical care that can't afford to save their own life. It makes me so mad when I see our country bring people here from other countries for life saving surgery for free, but then they ignore the people of this country when they can't afford a life saving surgery.

If it comes down to it I will be looking up Free mission clinics near me. Free mission clinics are different than the free clinic almost every town has. I already know there is one in my states capitol. They don't turn people away.

Cathy thank you so much, that is really sweet of you. I worry a lot about it too. I just dont want us to get into a bad bad financial situation but I know it is important for my life to have this operation.
