Has anyone ever heard of this medication or have any of you tried it?

I'm going to start my first dose this evening.

You are suppose to take it in the evening before bed.

This is the new medicine that the new Pain doctor prescribed me. I'm starting at the 4.5mg dose

Any thoughts?

LibraJo,

I am wondering if you are still taking the Low Dose Naltrexone, and if so, how is it working for you? Any side effects?

I am curious because I have come across a couple of articles about it being used to treat fibro pain, and you are the first person I know of who has actually tried it.

Hipmamma,

Thanks for asking. I had posted somewhere else on here I think that it is definetely helping at nightime when I'm sleeping. Before I would keep crying trying to turn myself over because of the pain in my back & all the way around to my rib cage. After taking it the 1st or 2nd night most of that pain went away with the exception of my back.

When I get up in the morning, my Frankenstein walk is not as bad I have noticed a little bit of improvement in using the steps. I think it is helping my bladder a little bit too.

One downfall is now that some of the pain is gone in my left leg, I really don't have much feeling in it now. I didn't have much feeling before (numbness) except for the pain.

Ok, I better not type much more. I just woke up from a nap in the recliner & I was laying to my left side & now my elbow is all blown up The swelling is in to my hand & it hurts like the dickens! That is my tendinitis. (At least that is what I'm told).

I would highly recommend trying the LDN if you can get a doctor to prescribe it.
