My friend who has fibro sent this to me and wondered if anyone else is having the same problems.

Have you heard of any fibro people who have the flu like half a month every month? And now this chest pain? My chest hurts to the touch and through to my pain. Hurts to breathe too. The dr. said it's my muscles from the fibro. I've got the tightest muscles they've seen and pills won't relax them.

Does this sound like any of you?

If it does what do you do for relief?

thanks

brenda

When you have the chest pain put a heating pad on it if it gets a little better with that or by massaging it you know your not having a heart attack thats what i do now after wasted trips to the hospital they always told me mine was heartburn it wasnt it was just Fibro.

And I constantly feel like I have fever and sinus infections but once again I don't. My dr tells me now not to come in anymore unless I see something green or yellow.

Yes I get this chest pain too and I am convinced for the most part it is chest wall/muscle pain but oh boy it does scare me too and then I get worrying and get all anxious and seems it hurts even more. I have had a checkup with a cardiologist too and it was all fine...but my mind works in overdrive thinking she missed something. I am sure it is muscular though most of time. It hurts so often and makes it harder to breathe. Especially hurts if i try to go out and take a walk for exercise. Plus I have acid reflux which can add to the chest pain. I have an endoscopy coming up soon to check all that part again. Yuck!

I guess it is all part of this crazy disease.....I am hoping that it is all anyway.

at first i thought i was having a heart attack it turned out to be pneumonia and pleurosy. we got itdown to a tolerable level and now i wait until it gets realy sharp and effects my breathing before i go to the hospital. what really sucks is i can't tell if it is the fibro or another round of pneumonia. i have learned to error on the side of caution, the last thing i need is to have a major heart attack at 40 and think it is fibro. my doc says when in doubt get checked out.

I also get the chest wall muscel pain. That and my asthma, I cant breat or talk. I have gone to the hospital many times. Now I have a blood preasure machine at home. If I start to get the pains, I check my bp to see how it is doing. Ask your doc if your insurance will pay for a bp machine and what you should be looking for when you have the chest pains.

My problem is I went to school to be a EMT and so I know too much and think of the worst possible things it can be. I take my own blood pressure, pulse, listen to my lung sounds, its really sad. I should just throw the stuff away but then I think I'd freak out more haha

I was doing some reserach today. I came upon this in a book that I have. **Fibromyalgia is a comples syndrome marked by severe muscle pain that may be accompanied by other symptoms including abdominal pain, chest pain, depression, fatigue, low-grade fever, headaches, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, premenstrual and menstrual difficulties, and temporomandibular joint syndrome, Inthe United States alone, between 3 & 6 million people suffer from fibromyalgia, the majority of them women betewwn the ages of 25 amd 45.Symptomsgenerally appeargradually and become more intenseas time passes.** That right there is the answer to alot of the questions we have all been asking.
