I've been taking Lyrica for a while, but just started taking Cymbalta about a month ago. The combo works well for me and I haven't had this much pain relief in over a year. It doesn't help with teeth clinching though. I'm going to the dentist this week to get a mouth piece for sleeping. My insurance won't cover it, which stinks.

I take 450 mg Lyrica a day... 150mg each am, afternoon, and pm. I get a little loopy if I don't eat enough with it, but for me, like tsage said, the benefits outweigh the side effects.

OOH, I got the mouth piece for clenching... NOT CHEAP!! but so definitely worth it. I don't wake up anywhere near as often as I did before the mouth thing, and I've actually been able to SEE how much I clench: I have indentations where my teeth have cut into the guard... and the guard is HARD PLASTIC!!! Kinda scary when you think that just a few months ago, I was putting that much pressure on my teeth and jaw.

tsage and kitkatmm, did you have jaw pain and stiffness when you were clenching your teeth? Did it cause tingling in your face? I deal with these symptoms a lot and I am not sure if it is from the clenching of my teeth or not.

Jaw pain yes. Headaches as well. I actually wore down some of the gums on my upper jaw, and that's how they knew.

I get severe pain in my jaw from clenching, clicking on both sides of my jaw, tingling in my face, headaches, etc. I have had two splints made for me. I broke the first one in half. I don't use the second one for some reason. I probably should because now I bite my tongue and the insides of my cheeks.

I have pain in my teeth mostly, and I do get headaches. I don't have tingling in my face though.

Oh yes, I get the headaches too! I need to go to my dentist to make sure I am not causing damage to my jaw. Just another wonderful thing about having fibro!

I know how you feel. They keep changing my meds also. Still waiting for that ***** phone call from the pain clinic. I will be dead before they call me.
