OK, I'm starting a new thread about Lyrica, because all of the others are really old.

I just got my first script of it today. Ten pills, 25mg each. The doctor said I'll know in 6 days if it's going to work or not.

First of all, even with our prescription plan, it was PRICEY!!! 2.50/pill! The cash price was 4.50 a pill.

Here's the really strange part, though! I took the first pill tonight and I feel like I'm sitting here waiting to sprout fangs and hair!!!

I'll keep you posted Wink Wish me luck!

Pfizer hugs,

Tina

Wow! What an interesting vision Tina!!!Laughing I've been on Lyrica now for about 6 weeks I think...and I haven't managed to sprout any fangs or hair!!! LOL! It did make me a bit 'spacey' for about a week, but both the Doctor and Pharmacist said that that would happen. I just LOVE the Lyrica!! I pay $82 here in Australia for 56 capsules, and take 2/day, so they last me 28 days. I figure that if it can keep me feeling a lot better, and it costs $7 a week (only $1 a day) then it's definately worth it! I know it feels like alot to put out each time you get a Script filled (I know when I have gone to the Pharmacy, I'm thinking...'Almost 100 bucks!! What else could I be spending my money on??'), but when you break it down and it's only $7 each week, it feels a lot better. The one thing Lyrica doesn't help with is the fatigue which is what I've been battling of late. But all in all, I would recommend Lyrica to everyone!!! x Diana

I really like Lyrica a lot. I only worry about the weight gain issue, but I see to have put that off and not gained any - so far. Smile

The thing that I love about it is - NO MORE FOG!!! I can actually THINK! I can process information. I can see things clearly - such as all the cobwebs in the corners!!

The one thing it doesn't touch is the pain OR the fatigue. But I am happy just about the Fog finally lifting.

Hope it works for you. Can't wait to hear how you are doing.

I used to take Ibuprophen 800 and it worked ok until I started getting bad edema in my legs and feet and my asthma went from mild to severe. Took me awile to figure out it was the ibuprophen , now if I even try to take 200 I swell up like a puffer fish
and this too shall pass??!!

Wow, Tina, that is a pretty bad feeling with such a low dose of Lyrica. I hope your adjustment period is short and you will be able to tolerate Lyrica for the long-term.

I have taken 150 mg (2X75) every day for nearly a year now and it helps me tremendously. My worst side-effects were daytime exhaustion and fog but once my Rhuemy changed WHEN I took the med and both at same time rather than morning and suppertime, I ve done fine with it.

Tina ~ I have been on the 50mg pills for about a month now. I don't think that I have fangs and the only added hair is from my PCOS, LOL Laughing Luckily for me the doctor gave me about 3 months worth of samples. It does help me sleep and it has really helped with the muscle twitching that was driving me crazy. Before I started taking Lyrica I had been loosing weight, after I started taking it I gained back about 5 pounds Angry So, now I am really having to watch my weight and have lost two of the five. If it is that pricey, I think that I will ask the doc for a cheaper anti-seizure medication and one that does not make you gain so much weight.
