I've been reading up on a possible thyroid connection with Fibromyaliga. My doctor mentioned it to me today, and is researching it before prescribing. Have any of you been prescribed with thyroid medication without being diagnoised with hypo/hyper thyroid? If so, how has the meds been working - any bad side effects?

I was just started on thyroid medication without being diagnosed with the conditions you mentioned. My doctor said my level would be fine if I was in my forties, but I am only 19. Her theory is that our bodies are full of toxins and the thyroid and liver cant keep up. She put me on some meds to see if the level would go up to where it should be for my age. I cant tell that they have been working, probably because I haven't been on them very long, but I haven't experienced any adverse side effects. I hope this helps, if you have any questions feel free to post or pm me.

My thyroid has been tested and is in normal range. I dont know why give thyroid meds w/o thyroid problem.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

The way to test at home for Hypothyroid is by taking your temp, 1st thing in the am, before you get out of bed. Low grade temps are a good indicater that you have a low functioning thyroid.

My temp is in the dumper 24 hrs a day.

I've started taking a holistic thyroid supplement.

My holistic practitioner said that we take in more toxins in one day, than our grand and greatgrand parents took in in their whole lives.

Your body can hold up to 20 lbs of toxins and then it all falls apart.

Hope this helps
