I don't know about you guys, but the only thing Cymbalta's helped me with is morning stiffness in my joints. That's it. And now that I'm in a funk depression-wise, I'm not very confident in it's abilities in that department either. Any thoughts or am I the only one here taking placebo?

Really? Cymbalta has helped me a ton. It's not enough to take the edge off my pain anymore, but if i miss a dose I can definitely see a huge difference. Sorry it hasn't worked for you. I seem to have that problem with Lyrica, everybody thinks its great but it did nothing for me except make me gain weight and have swollen hands and feet! Too bad medicine isn't an exact science!

HI... I think that we have missed the point about todays meds...

some work for some...They do not all work the same for everyone...

It just better points out to us that we are all individuals.....

And another way of possibly looking at it is, "you really don't know how bad it might be without them either". To say that a med is a crock, well it may not work for you but for others it my be a God Send...... So if it does not work for you be glad for those it does and you keep on looking and trying to find the one that helps you.....

I agree with Fletcher. I have taken cymbalta in the past and it really helped me. I just got back on it a few months ago. I'm on a low dose and will increase soon. The best antidepressant I've ever taken for depression is Wellbutrin. I saved my life on one occasion.

One thing I have noticed with me is after a while the meds are not as effective. I have to change up the dose or the drug for a while. It like my system gets used to it or something.

Hey Guys; Speaking of Cymbalta,it worked great for me along with the other meds. Unfortunately the co-pay was killing me, along with the Lyrica they were driving me to the poor house. So I told the Doc to put me back on the old brands, wellbutrin and neurontin. I can live with the difference.

Wellbutrin is da bomb - I just didn't want to take a combo pack of anti-depressants...like I said it's helped with morning stiffness. I refuse to take Lyrica...I have my reasons.

Nina, are they reasons you'd be willing to share (about not taking Lyrica). I'm asking b/c I'm on Cymbalta now (about 2 mos.) and like you, they've done nothing for me except make my mouth dry and give me dizzy spells shortly after taking them. My doc. now wants to try me on Lyrica. If you don't want to share your thoughts on this, that's fine. Just wondering.
