I found this, (NORML) it seems that the whole country is a little messed up as far as the laws go. this, if i understand it correctly, means that what happened to the poor lady from mr. shapiro's post can happen to anyone! even if you have all of your ducks in a row. Why are the states so different. How can it be ok in one state, and so verrrry wrong in the next. These are the UNITED States for goodness sake. I love my Country, believe that, but for heaven sake, this is just not right! The Supreme Court recently ruled that the U.S. Justice Department, including the Drug Enforcement Agency, may prosecute state-authorized medical marijuana patients for violating the federal Controlled Substances Act. What does this decision mean for seriously ill patients and for the ongoing tension between state and federal laws? Laws in twelve states (Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington) remain in effect despite the Supreme Court's decision. |
