MDJunction to me

jpcrps"When I found MD Junction, I was in the beginning stages of RSD/CRPS. I was scared, lacked knowledge about the condition, and felt very alone.

MD Junction changed all of that for me. I found friendship and terrific information from people who had first-hand knowledge of this syndrome. It was and still is a big part of my life.

MDJ was my first step on the journey of grief; from denial to acceptance. I am now inspired to help others by sharing this amazing site and sharing my own experiences. I am very impressed that one forum site can provide hope and inspiration to people suffering from so many different conditions. I am proud to be a part of this community.

Ouch....

If you can't smoke it could eat it, I've been told it does even more effect that way...

Very funny Scotty, now beam down my clothes!

I am sure if they make it legal big pharma will come up with some form of medication taken from it. Unfortunately Mississippi (where I live) is unlikely to legalize it until they are forced to. Medical use is allowed is as a possible defense but nothing is guaranteed and I'm sure the cops won't care if I'm eating or smoking it. My life is not so bad that a prison sentence wouldn't make it worse so I guess I'll muddle through.

Perhaps mmj may work for some.... I tried it, it did nothing for the pain just made me feel fuzzy. I was told tho that there are different types of mj. I used to be a "pot head" in high school, boy did my grades suffer! I wised up my junior year and did smoke until after I did homework, thank goodness. Now I think about smoking again and it brings back those memories.... Plus I have a school aged child and I don't want her getting a "contact high". Could I be a little paranoid? Or is this a founded fear?

well, it's not a miracle drug. Do you live in a medical marijuana state? if not, given the penalties, you might consider going without. Having said that, if you are able to obtain it legally, it's not so bad for "taking the edge off your pain or discomfort". I've heard of people saying that they smoked it once had no effect. That's because the effect can be very subtle.

It's not like an opioid that "kills" the pain. , the effect is much more subtle.

Think of it as just another arrow in your coping quiver.

Here's a link to a good article on medical marijuana, that appeared in today's New York Times

Whistling Wow, thank you for that link it was very informative. I live in California mmj is legal but it still has some social arguments.

I have argued myself that it has a similiar effect on reflexes like alcohol. As a mother and a wife, I worry about second-hand effects. I am NOT anti-mj. I really think that it does help some people and there is nothing wrong with it in moderation. But to use it as a consistent pain-reliever?

I'm open minded on the point-

How much is enough? Too much? Lots of questions....

I have extreme enough pain that methadone, oxycodine, norco, vicodin, and other strong meds have no effect.

How do eat it? Just chomp and chew? Or is there a certain process such as cooking in butter or margarine? I've heard of it just never seen it or done it.

You would have to cook it in something lol not eat it raw. I have even heard of it in pill form to reduce the smell and having to smoke it. I don't know specifics though you'd have to talk to your local dept. They will have way more details. I know someone who never smoked but tried it and pain levels went from a 10 to a 1-2. Everyones different of course. Good luck!

Thank you Miss Stacey! I don't know if we have depts in CA. We have clinics though, and they may be able to answer my questions.

Have a blessed and comfortable weekend!

I am seriously considering asking my doctor for medical marijuana. If he does not cooperate is there another way to get it by going to the state doctors in Michigan? I cannot take the pain anymore and nothing really helps.

It's not legal in my state yet, they are trying but I would be so interested to see how it would be. So many say their pain levels drop tremendously. I bet your dr knowing your situation would be open to it if it's legal if not just contact the dept that handles it and ask how you go about getting it when drs don't cooperate and you have valid chronic conditions. I know they advocate for the people. Best of luck! Keep us updated. Hugs Wink
