There are healing properties in everything. If a person can control pain with pot. Wonderful! Natural medicine at its best. I know If it was legal in Wisconsin, I woulde do it in a heartbeat.

I myself use marijuana for pain relief from Fibro. I find that it is the best way to get almost complete relief, and I agree, it does last for HOURS. I just recently decided to try it. I dont use it every day presently, but when the season changes, I can forsee that happening. I just cant see how using something that gives us such relief can be illegal. I really hope more states legalize medical marijuana, although, i am not sure it will ever happen. There is always hope.

okay, here's one time that my life really doesn't suck.

I do live in California and have both a users license and a growing certificate! Right now my allowed six plants are about 4 1/2 feet tall and it looks like I'll be able ago the whole year without having to go to the store. Yes, we have medical marijuana stores in California. it's just a feeling but I'm pretty certain that I would be taking much more methadone and oxycodone if the medical marijuana option wasn't available to me. I pretty much use it throughout the day but then again it's not like I drive a bus for living (or do anything for a living anymore).

wow, that is a sweet set up mr. shapio! seriously, you are indeed lucky to have this medicine readily available to you. can you imagine going to jail in florida just for trying to shut the screaming up in your body? i haven't, but i can imagine it. its just so unfair. it makes places relax that no pill can get to, or something. its just not fair thats all.

For goodness sake Montel Williams is for it, for the MS. he has as well as other things as well, fms being one of them... why are people not listening? anyway, i a respectable person, and would drive back 5 miles back to a store to give back the wrong 'change' but something that isn't hurting anyone? that should be prescribed by a dr. i just don't understand.

pondering again...

Well said pondering! Just think, some people do use this stuff just to get high. There are those people who use it for the "wrong reason" if there is such a thing, and then theres all of us, who use it because its the only way to feel close to normal. Yet, we are judged and constantly denied the only relief that we can find. I doubt OH will ever get it legalized, but that wont stop me. It helps me more than any pill ever could, and for those 2 hours of pain free bliss, i would gladly pay a ticket or spend a few days in jail.

Im pondering right with you!

It's not legal in WY either but that didn't stop my Rhumatoid Dr from suggesting it. Not only does it kill the pain but it has no serious side effects (unless you count weight gain). Just to be able to relax fully for a few hours gets me through the rest.

WOW! This is the sort of thing that gets me all green and hulky! Hearing doctors treat patients like they're all prospective addicts or current addicts and like a Psychiatrist or Psychologist would be able to help since you've already been placed in the mindset that you're on trial. And the no narcotics thing just gets me floored!

It's like living in the dark ages of medicine. So then what, an 800 mg prescription of Ibuprofin or Depression medication?

Personally I think doctors, especially pain specialists, should be liable for their lack of attentiveness and for procrastination since they're just buying time hoping that the addicts will just leave while the real sufferers have to play their game all the while cope with intense pain.

Me thinks it's time to move to California and set up shop next to Shapiro.

Hi guys,

I am in springfield massachusetts where it turns out there is more drug addicts than doctors and I cant get a doctor to prescribe anything for my FM.I went to the pain management clinic yesterday and they made me do a drug test and I have to see there shrink before they will even consider any meds, and the Doc made it clear narcotics werent the way to go, because of addiction purposes.I tried to explain to him dependancy and addiction were two completely differet things but he just didnt want to hear it.I am also in a state where MJ isnt an option although I would consider it, dang on a good day my pain is a 6 and most days an 8. I had to fight for 30 percocets and they help very little.I dont know if there is anyone in this area but if there is and can recommend a Doc please do.

Post edited by: jumptolife, at: 09/06/2007 07:36

i'm with you... on the green and hulky thing... its crazy, midevil, when's that bus leaving for mr. shapiro's neighborhood?... haha.

what sturck me was the procrastination comment, its true i have never thought of it. it has to be done.... well common sense merits the thought, but no one wants to tackle the issue. so it is indeed procrastination! in another words, just another reason to get aggravated.

but no, we'll just put another pill in our livers, and smile.

Just a quick FYI - If you want to use mary-j for pain but you don't want to smoke or buy an expensive vaporizer, you can always make butter and bake. There are plenty of pot-butter recipes on the intertubes, and I've found that when ingested the pain-killing properties are even better and last longer. I just don't like the mental confusion, but I'll put up with it since it's bascially my only option right now.
