Hi,

My Doctor told me about the pain relief benefits of Marijuana years ago. Unfortunately I live in a state where Medical Marijuana is not legal. I tried it anyway and the relief was almost instantanious and lasted for hours. Now the drawback. We all fight our weight because of fatigue and marijuana makes you hungry so you must keep an eye on the scale. The more you weigh the more you will hurt.

I hope this helps.

compared to the other horrendous side effects I have experience with the various drugs prescribed for fibromyalgia I think that a case of the munchies is about as benign a side effect as one could encounter.

Too bad you live in a state where this isn't an option

I only wish there was another delivery system other than smoking it that was as effective in delivering the active drug. I'm not a smoker and hate the idea of inhaling something that might give me cancer later. Does anyone know of other equally effective delivery systems?

You could try using a waterpipe of a hooka. By taking the smoke through water you remove some of the stuff that coats lungs without loosing any of the effect. You could find a hooka at pier one.

it's called a Volcano - any "smoke shop" will sell you one for $550 - $650 (analog vs. digital models)

you can also get them used on ebay

ROFL! I love the comparison of analog vs. digital. I looked both up and now get an understanding of what each does. Thanks a bunch for the info, it really does help in identifying which method I would use if I ever considered this as a possibility for pain management. So far two specialist have given me the green light if I wanted to go this route and based on the response about the enlightened weed seems like a pretty good thing to consider.

Cheers.

Whoa. Pain management is almost illegal in my area of the state. If my current pain doc decides to "retire," I have a referral to a doc outside L.A., but I can't afford to fly there all the time for treatment. I've got to find another option. When this first started, I drove four hours to Chicago once a month for pain management appointments (but the doctor was horrible.)

This is worse than trying to find an LLMD.

I just wanted to add that I don't really take anything out of the ordinary. It's just that there is no one else in this area who will treat pain so if necessary, one of my old pain docs will refer me to his colleague who is in California.

Hi guys,

I am in springfield massachusetts where it turns out there is more drug addicts than doctors and I cant get a doctor to prescribe anything for my FM.I went to the pain management clinic yesterday and they made me do a drug test and I have to see there shrink before they will even consider any meds, and the Doc made it clear narcotics werent the way to go, because of addiction purposes.I tried to explain to him dependancy and addiction were two completely differet things but he just didnt want to hear it.I am also in a state where MJ isnt an option although I would consider it, dang on a good day my pain is a 6 and most days an 8. I had to fight for 30 percocets and they help very little.I dont know if there is anyone in this area but if there is and can recommend a Doc please do.
