i'm so glad u posted this question! i am in the same boat. my doc wanted to start me on lyrica but my insurance wont cover it until i try this gabapentin. i'd never even heard of it before he mentioned it. i was surprised too because i have pretty good insurance. anyway- how much are u starting on a day? and do u take it all at once or thru-out the day? i just started mine today actually and i'm supposed to take 3, 300 mg capsules a day. looks like we'll go thru this trial together it sounds like people are on a lot of it for it to actually be working. hmmm....

Hi. I take 2400 mg of neurontin a day and 150 mg of topamax. I take other meds too, but these are the the two that were mentioned in the post.

I take topamax for my migranes. I am at 150mg a day but seem to need to raise it every month or so by 25mg and my doc said I can only go up to 200mg a day. Otherwise it is really a seziure med but works great for migraines.

I've been on Neurontin for several months now. It works pretty good for pain with no side effects. The problem is you have to keep getting the dosage increased as time goes on,your body gets used to it after awhile. I'm using 1800 mils. a day now.. Wish you well.

I took Neurontin for a few years. It worked well. But over time stopped working. So I got changed to Lyrica. If I had my choice I would pick Neurontin, it is much cheaper and I never had any side effects.

i have been taking Neurontin since January 2008. I am taking 1800 mg a day. It has helped me some. I was waking up screaming in pain and had awful burning(like on fire) pain and it has settled down a little. I still wake up with pain and burning but nothing like I was.... I took Lyrica before Neurontin and Lyrica did absolutely nothing for me....

Neurontin made me reallllly listless and more fatigued. Has it done this for you? I really need something to help with my neuralgia.
