I suffer from very very stiff neck and shoulders.... i have been doing the chiropractor way, because i have been in away running away from the fact that just maybe i might need some med.s.... i don't like the thought of being on med's but these past few weeks have really been getting me thinking that now i think is the right time.

Anyone have good results with just using the just the muscle relaxers from the store over prescriped meds.

Hl... I have done the meds thing for the neck and shoulders... but the best things that has worked for me is accupuncher and magnetic therapy....... I use 900baun I think that is the power name for it... but they really help my neck..... my acupuncherist, does wonders..... they I have it massaged.... and the pain goes back from a 9.5 to a 3...and will stay that way for about 3 weeks..sometimes longer.....but not usually

If your interested in a good supplier of good theraputic magnets..... PM me and I will give it to you........ do not use bi polar magnets.... they do not work...... a north pole magnet is the only thing that will help with pain... the south pole is for increasing blood supply

KTangel welcome to the group. I have never really had any luck with over the counter medications. When I need a muscle relaxer I use flexaril which does help me but makes me very sleepy. I can not use it on a regular bases and be able to function

I have found nothing over the counter that has helped me. I have a TENS unit that I use if things are REALLY bad. I have a script for Zanaflex but right now without insurnace I'm unable to get them so I'm toughing it out. Which I gotta say that right now it's tough.

Welcome KTangel! I too have not had any luck with the over the counter meds. I use Skelaxin, sometimes 3x a day to help with the pain. Most of my pain is in my neck/shoulders too although I have pain in many other spots. When the meds don't seem to be helping, I use a bed buddy that I put in the microwave. It provides mosit heat which I find soothing. Hope this helps you. Good luck! Let me know if I can do anything else to help you.
