Don't feel badly about posting this Cath, it's not as if we all live under a rock. We know what a lot of docs and "normals" out there think about us,and we encounter negative and judgmental doctors who don't believe us, but pretending they don't exist doesn't make them go away. I know that I have to rise above their opinions and negativity and hope and pray that someday everyone will know that this is a real illness with real pain. Until then they will have to wallow in their own stupid ignorance.

Mentally picturing pigs with stethoscopes wallowing in mud as I type this. Feeling better now!

Hey Cath, dont feel bad. It upset me for a couple of minutes and then I decided that I dont really value the opinions of ignorant people. We know that this is real and there are many people who believe us. Just think, if people didn't write stuff like that, there wouldn't be as much motivation or reason to research and at least their message (although wrong) is making fibro known. Dont sweat it and get better from your ear infection soon!

hugs and kisses,

This just shows these comments were from some very unknowledgable doctors and people. Lyrica was not produced for fibromyalgia,it was for diabetic neuropathy. It was doctors, like mine, who tried it for fibro and found it was successful.I can't take it, the side effects made my hips hurt so bad I could hardly walk.

I am sooooo sick of people(like my ex)deciding if my pain is real and what I should be able to do or not do. When will people realise that my pain is not the same as someone elses. We are all different in our pain and yet we are all the same. Why can't people get that, and just let us live out life as best we can.

Cath,

Don't you dare feel bad about giving us information. Knowledge is power, and giving us this knowledge just lets us better arm ourselves for when we have to deal with people such as the one who wrote that dreadfull article.

Also, do not question your sanity, fibro is real and our symptoms are real. Otherwise this forum would not be so active now would it? You are not alone, there are many of us here to support each other and be supported. Every single one of us went looking for the same thing, and for the same reason. Does that make us all nuts? No, I think not!

I hope your ear feels better soon.

Pixie

well said pixie. Seems to me the doctor who is now "changing" his mind about fibro is the one who needs to questions his sanity.

Snoopy,

I completely agree with you. I find his change of heart to be highly suspocious. I believe something must have happened to cause it. If he had done further reasearch that proved this new and negitive conclusion I am certain it would have been published and debated on by the medical comminity. So was he pressured, bought off, or is he simply not as sharp as he once was? It would be very interesting to know for sure.

Thanks everyone. You are right Pixie, and I know that. I think I have questioned myself since before the diagnosis when my back problems started. I have found when you have a condition that cannot be seen, you are looked upon as a hypochondriac. That is how my previous PCP, neurosurgeon as well as my employer made me feel. So I am used to second guessing myself even though I know better than any one of them that my pain is real!! But thank you for the reinforcement and the well wishes.

Cath

i believe this is the article you are talking about...

I copied this statement from the article Roy points out above!

THIS MAKES ME SICK!

“These people live under a cloud,” he said. “And the more they seem to be around the medical establishment, the sicker they get.”

I think that maybe he needs to know WHY we get 'sicker' the more we're around the medical establishments....BECAUSE OF THE DOCTORS LIKE HIM WHO TALK ABOUT US LIKE THAT!

Here's where I would vent and call names...but I'm not gonna STOOP to his level of idiot-ness! Hey...like my new word???!!! LOL
