One thing I have not seen anyone write or ask about is menstrual cramps.

I know this is an uncomfortable subject, but I had to bring it up. Cool I have terrible cramps and have huge blood clots. About 4 years ago, my gyno did a laproscopy and found endometriosis. I was put on a shot at that time that stopped my period and threw me into menopause for 6 months. They were the best 6 months of my post-puberty life LOL So about 6 months ago, she put me back on the same shot without surgery because she felt I had had enough surgeries recently..she's right hehe Soooo, we believe this last round of shots is what brought out the fibro. I have asked her if she'd take out my uterus and she refuses. She wants to wait and see how things go with the fibro.

So, after that long intro, I am wondering how many of us have real bad cramps as part of the fibro. From what I have read, it is one of the symptoms. I completely dread that part of the month every single month. If its not a big part of fibro, I want a hysterectomy, so that's why Im asking.

My periods were so awful I was put on Depo pro vera shots about 8 years ago...I just recently went off and got my first period in 8 years.

It was not so bad yet...we will see...had to go off the shot, its not good to be on for so long...plus I think it was my main reason for weight gain and sweats. So far I havent noticed any change in symptoms

I've was on Depo for 14 years!! I just went off of it, i was supposed to have my shot 1/1/08. I decided maybe I should go off of it and see if I would feel better. They say its very toxic and can effect other parts of our bodies. So I haven't had a period in almost 14 years so we will see. Tippy22, how long before your period returned?

I don't notice worse than usual cramping but I get terrible aches and pains the week before and just hurt all over. I never used to feel this way with it before fibro.

Well for me I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago so I haven't had a period of course and even when I had my uterus I never got my period. I was diagnosed with PCOS which has it's on problems in itself.

I've noticed a huge difference, I get widespread pain all over and especially in my lower back now. I was miserable, and didn't know why till I started. Never have been a fan of that time o the month and now I hate it even more.

I had a hysterictomy in 1987. I was haveing lots of cramping and lots of bleeding, My doc said scince you have had 4 kids already lets just take it out, threw me into menopause but I can deal with that, No periods is the best.
