Hi I need any suggestions on what I can do to help me with energy. I have Chronic FMS and I am tired all the time, even with enough rest. I have no energy and I can't seem to get any even with eating right with proteins and taking my vitamins. I feel very desperate. I asked my doctor what I can do but she says get enough rest that is it. I do I get 7 hours, sometimes 8 hours, but I am still so tired. Is there anything that anyone takes that helps? Thank you for your time.

Hi Rose welcome. First I have to say make sure your dr has recently checked your thryroid and Vitamin b12 levels to makes sure they are good. have you ever been evaluated for a sleep disorder. If your sleep is not quality , restoritive sleep that could be adding to the fatigue of the illness and making it worse. I hope this helps

Hi Snoopy30

My Thryroid and Vit.b12 levels have been checked and are normal. But I haven't had a sleep disorder test. That is what I am thinking will need to be done. Thank you for your response, I greatly appreciate it. Blessing on you, Rose

I would definately discuss it with your dr. It has made a world of difference in how I feel since being diagnosed with sleep apnea and now using a machine to sleep. Keep me posted I'd be interested in what happens. You can also find me at the sleep apnea forum

Welcome Rosie,

The chronic fatigue you feel is sometimes tricky. I think what snoopy suggested is a great idea. First rule out other things! Sometimes we have a tendancy to blame everything on the fibro. It probably is....but wouldn't it be nice to have something that you CAN do something about finally?

Then again what I've experienced I went thru months that I was sleepy and tired all the time and then it subsided. I'm fatigued still, however it's not the sleepy type, just the one where you think someone drained all the blood out of you!

Keep coming back because I've learned a lot of great things from so many and I know you will to...

Have a decent nite,

Spruce

Hi, have you tried provigil? My dr just put me on it and it's really helping me a lot.
